| I am driving to Iowa in a couple weeks to visit families and its going to be a very long 8 hours drive. Does anyone have any advice on how they are with car rides for that long.. how many times or hours should I stop? |

| It would depend on your husky. I can't remember how old Kato is? If he's still a puppy you'll have to take more frequent breaks. I forgot if it went the number of months your puppy is equivalent to the number of hours he'll be able to go between potty breaks. I may be wrong...I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct guidelines...
If it's an 8 hour drive, I'd plan on stopping at least 3 times. Even if Ginger and Storm could probably make it all the way through 8 hours before having to go potty, I'd stop at least once to let them stretch, walk a little bit, drink some water, have a snack. If it were me, I'd make 2 stops.
As far as how your husky behaves riding in a car, that'll also depend. How does Kato ride in a car now? Is he calm? Or is he excited? Does he tend to move around much while you're driving? Or do you currently need to put him in a crate in the car? Also, how far have you driven so far with Kato?

| Skyla rides in her crate fine. Braiden and Max wear car harnesses and are strapped in with a seat belt. Braiden does get car sick. You might want to travel with towels and wet wipes just in case. I would think stopping at least every three hours would be good. I bought a seat protector for the car and it works great. |

That makes 2 of us..lol! Mya is goes nuts in the car and well Kody is going down the same road as her! I bought the kurgo harness and line for them both and it does help when it comes to actually getting OUT of the car, but during...yeah..not much help. If Kristina jumps in on this thread she can tell you what I looked like when we got to the last meet up that I was able to attend. That's a 45min car ride and they go BONKERS!!! |

| Several years ago my brother and I took my son, Dakota and my brother's dog on a two week camping trip starting from Illinois to Zion National Park in Utah to Yosimite National Park in California and back to Illinois. The dogs did wonderful! I brought a crate for Dakota since we were tent camping but he didn't need it. He is very good in the car. We stopped alot though... |

| Both Adobo & Biko ride in the car just great. Biko is a bit antsy for about the first 5 minutes then after that no problema. I'd stop every 2-3 hours, fill up with gas and then let them walk around a bit. ( on leash of course) |

| My new guy (5 months old) does great in cars. He rides with me for a 40 minute commute every morning and afternoon. He mostly slumps down and just goes for the ride. |
