I am looking to find out more about the white huskies. I rescued my white Husky 4 months ago and after researching a bit, I come to find out she may be a “Isabella Husky”? I have never heard of this. Would love to know more. She is everything a Husky is and more. Considering a DNA test

I think @amymeme has mentioned them before but I'm not trusting memory to be accurate.

An Isabella white would have liver colored points (nose, lips and "eye liner." It is a very, very dilute red and may have some faint yellow/red/fawn tiny in certain lighting. A true white husky while have black points and no red shading. Both are fully acceptable colors in the breed.

Your girl appears to have black points with a snow nose which is not a true liver colored points. However, she does appear to have some yellowish tint to her coat, maybe just the camera. How old is she? Her ears look rather large for an adult husky ( puppies are notorious for oversized ears compared to body.) Not sure about the shape of the face/head - ears, if adult, suggest maybe a hint of GSD. Oh, wait . Just saw the pic Al edited, ears aren't so large on that one. Still, there may be something Pittie about the shape of the head, more blocky (but then, I have seen huskies that do have that shape so, who knows.). A DNA test might be fun. It's be curious about the results.

Ive borderline given up on what a husky is supposed to look like. There is akc standard, working standard and even at one point some extreme variations between what constitutes a sibe. Which leaves a potential for a throwback type. Some of the most famous sibes look nothing like the modern sibe. So short of a dna test or papers its just a fun guessing game. But your dog is stunning whatever she is.

But sometimes a dna shows other fun things, like interesting lines that may explain a look or quirk.

I don't believe any of the DNA tests are able to definitively tell you what color she is. I have used Embark on mine and I believe it came back that my white male was genetically "likely" black. It will give you a lot of genetic pieces but can't per se tell you exactly how they may have worked together. I enjoy how embark gives me relative matches. I have actually found a sibling of my white male a couple hours from me and some half siblings further away. That part has helped me piece together his past in a way the shelter I got him from could not. My new dog seems to have come from a very active malamute parent as it's found a lot of half siblings around his age that all ended up in the shelter system pretty close to each other.

A fb group i am on started posting pics of togo. NOT from the famous run but one that brought meds to native villages. Alot of seppala and togo and the native children. I noticed 2 things, togo does not look anything like a modern husky and 2 i never thought squirt looked like even half husky but she looks alot like togo and shes built like balto was in the draft style that is no longer existant. I would love to retest squirt to see relatives of there are any. Also they have expanded the breed profile since we did it in 2014 and plains type village dog has since been expanded.

Csu ran spider for wolf content but that was all we ran her for and that had to do with vet care. We had to know for sure if she was actually a wolfdog or just a husky mix. And she did turn out to be misrepresented but not for content. I was told she was a Canadian gray wolf sibe mix and she turned out to be an arctic/grey/sibe mix. All it ment was phenotyping her content would be wrong. Spiders dad was basically sold as worthless discard from a fur farm in Minnesota because solid white wolves are worthless in the fur trade. But considering the person that bred spider was breeing 3 litters a year between spiders dam her grand dam and her aunt i wonder how many relatives spider has out there.
