2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. I've read so much mixed info on this, one says raw chicken breasts are okay another says no, one says raw eggs are okay, another says no.

Can I just buy raw meat from the meat section of grocery store and feed it to my husky? What meats and cuts are okay to do this with?

Typically people feed chicken leg quarters. But that is not a balanced diet. There are multiple posts about raw feeding on here. If I remember correctly, something like 80% meat bones, 10% organs and 10%...ummm, something else. Memory. I don't feed raw and it's been quite a while since I've read much about it 😂

I'm more worried about, is meat from a typical grocery store cleanly enough to feed raw? or do you need to get it from special places?

I do not, typically, overly worry about that. It is assumed, with chicken, that the vast majority, organic or conventional, is infected with salmonell, campylobactor and clostridium perfringens. Potentially more of a problem for people than dogs though still some risk. Important is kitchen hygiene to prevent contamination to people food.

The butcher where I get my bones has tubes of ground dog food I have no idea what is in that and no intention of going the raw food route - I believe it can be done nutritionally adequate and safely but to do so would be a major pain in the butt requiring consistent attention to detail. Which I am not willing to do when I find my current food results in healthy, happy, energetic dogs.

We did the cooked thing for awhile and there is a really good site that ypu enter everything in and it tells you whats too high/low/missing. I got my hearts and kidneys from the elk ranch. They are human grade. I got calf liver at the grocery store. And then i alternated meat. There was way way more ti it and im glad splinter will eat normal dog food again
