Wolf coats are out of my skillset. Getting a high content next year, though, so I might be back in the game, ha. Black phase, though. And with years of consideration, research, and a skillset in professional dog trainer with a mentor who trained full wolves in zoos.

That aside. No, I doubt he was ever bathed before I got him. Had giardia that took forever to kick so /I/ had to bathe him more than I would a normal and healthy puppy. It only recently showed up, though. And definitely was just super light oatmeal puppy shampoo.

The staining theory is because he was a rehome out of Oklahoma and they have red clay dirt. If he was exposed to it all day, every day, the darkest reds are where a puppy would have been squirming on his stomach. Illnesses considered, I doubt he came from anywhere great, and the mom rehoming him only had him a couple of days after her son brought him home I allowed, so doubt it came from them.

I think if i get another wolfdog id go through one of the 2 rescues around here but no more dogs until squirt and shadow die. Not being morbid but i have basically a bad situation with squirt. And then with my group of 3 i know my german shepherd hates puppies and has gone from can see a little to completely blind (pannus and pra) in the last few months and i dont think bringing a new dog home would be a good idea.

Just curious where your located because i would consider breeding spider to a black phase high content

I won’t be breeding any dogs. In Texas. Have this little dude and four other huskies. One is a mix with 50% husky and then malamute/shepherd/a small amount of grey wolf content.

If I didn’t have experience training other people’s wolfdogs of all contents I wouldn’t have even considered it. But after 15 years of research and longing, I’m finally in the space for a HC.

In my area wolfdogs are very popular so are huskies and breeds that can handle our winter. I thought about breeding spider but most of the wolfdogs around here are related to her.

I’m sure if you really wanted to work it, you could find a reputable breeder who would either loan you a stud or offer sperm.

Yup several actually just not in Colorado or a state bordering Colorado. A friend from high school breeds HC has a black phase green eyed stud. Wont ship semen and Florida is a very far drive. Also could go to Minnesota or cali although the cali breeder has bloodlines that tend to be agressive. We have a bunch of wolf wolfdog and northern breed rescues here and they are full which is one reason we never bred spider. One i volunteer at and sometimes they get puppies but they always have young dogs and id probably adppt from them. I just dont want anpther husky/wolf. Its a bad neurotic cross
