My one-year-old husky (two in July) hates it when I put my hand on the back of his neck. I would lightly rest my palm on the back of his neck or pet it and he starts kicking like crazy and starts mouthing on my hand. He doesn’t actually bite, but I wanted to get an idea of why he does this. He’s a very confident and independent dog. I read that this may also be the case. What do you all think?

Does it seam aggressive? My husky Apollo when I scratch just below he’s ribs he will start kicking and if I stop he will mouth my hand and paw my hand until I do it again, Storm does the same with her ear she loves a scratch behind the ear. The only reason that makes me think this is because of the leg kicking, I think if he didn’t want you to touch he’s neck he would move completely not kick he’s legs?

Kicking rapidly sounds like that's an itchy spot for him that he has trouble reaching and when you touch it you trigger the itch and attempt to itch it. Might not be that he hates it, just that it draws an itch reaction. Check the area for dry skin or scabbing, change of fur or something that could be making the area itchy, like a collar rub zone.
