Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. | Hi guys,
I have a 4 year old husky turning 5 in end of sept. The issue i am having is that my pupper is randomly peeing in random parts of the house. The backyard is always open so he can do his business there , which he usually does. But in the last month he has been doing it almost every day. He has done it in the past but maybe once every other month. My dad passed away 2 weeks ago so maybe its because of that. He randomly walks close to his rooms smells it and pee's near the stairs attached to his room. Or he will go into the bathroom and pee on the door. |

| I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing, that's a rough time for all.
A change in pattern - such as you've probably undergone - is a time where all training seems to get blown away. If they were even moderately close there may be a case of "where's grandpa?" The fact that the backyard is always open is inconsequential, you've had a change, he's had a change and things aren't quite right. Maybe it's time for a refresher on "potty time." _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| He also may be marking now that his scent is already there. First step would be not letting him loose unsupervised in the house. Either crate him when you're not home or tether him, either to you or a sturdy table leg when you are home. Second. Use an enzymatic cleaner to abolish the scent. I use nature's miracle for any accidents (though, it's been a hundred years since that had happened. It's also good to banish general doggie odor on carpets in the house!). Third, put him on a potty schedule and take him out to retrain him.
Good luck. |
