I really love this Vac! but in time i tend to forget to do things to keep them working fantastic. Sure i dump out the clear container and even pull out the filter thing under the container and bang it a few times and that rocking spinning attachment that gets clogged with dog hair from using it on the steps i have fixed, but last night i was reminded of one thing i fail to clean. here i am vacuuming away and wondering why the sucker does not seem so sucky but don't think much of it till of course the end, i go and clean all the things i just mentioned and still no improvement ... then i look at the Vac and go OH YEAH, the gray plastic "filter" thing on the inside of the canister at the top comes off to, EWWWWW i twisted it out and just about DIED it had i swear 1" of hair and dust stuck to the top of it, i should have taken a Pic but all i could think of was getting it to the trash and not making a huge mess on the way! cleaned it all up put it back in and we are back in business! 100% sucking power has been restored, so as a reminder to the rest of you at this tail end of coat blowing season, check ALL the parts of your Vac to make sure they are hair free

LOL This is exactly why I don't buy canister vacs! Much prefer tossing the bag than taking everything apart and cleaning it. I don't even want to know what's in my vacuum bags.

My vacuum died a few weeks ago and I've been relying on sweeping and my swifter vac. Ummm yeah about that..I NEED A NEW VACUUM ASAP!

Hubby and I just laughed tonight about the number of vaccuum bags we are going through now that our 3 year "dog break" is over! I have a somewhere around 14-year old Electrolux that has survived one husky and is beginning its second. I've heard they don't make the Electrolux's like they used to but I love mine!

i have a eureka airspeed and i LOVE it...of course as soon as i get a nice vacuum i go to a house with almost all hardwood...go figure, lol. i just have a little floor stick vacuum that does the rest of the house. i can't believe it still works quite frankly. its like..3 years old and having to deal with husky hair...i'm impressed!

Vacuum cleaners are a waste of money. They consume lots of electricity but burn no calories on your body different than the regular sweeping. I suggest doing the regular sweeping; it will not just save money but also serve as your exercise.

yeah, sweeping is all fine and good except when the hair just blows around and you can't get it all lol. i have pretty dark hardwood floors and hair and dusk show up like nobodies business. vacuuming just seems to work out better for me. i've tried sweeping too..just doesnt do the job as well for me

I hate sweeping and vacuuming is plenty of exercise too! Takes me twice as long to sweep a hardwood floor than it does to vacuum. No thank you, I'll take my vacuum and believe me, I still get a good workout just from vacuuming. It's really a matter of opinion and what tools you are using. With a light floor sweeper you'd be just as good off sweeping, with a 22 lb brute of a vacuum like I use it's a workout and picks up very well...way better than sweeping.

when i use a broom it more of a hockey game i just try to get it all in a corner but it goes everywhere! i only use a broom if the Vac cant get it (glass, FOAM!, chunks of stuff) we have tile and hardwood and the vac has a hard-floor surface option, the carpet steps that's a pain in the ass with all the handle attachments but they do work.

Have you tried a handheld rollerbrush stair vac for the carpet stairs? I use one on mine and it works like a dream.

And believe me, when I change out the handle and go to vacuum stairs, I'm using core, back, legs and arms to vacuum the stairs! And I have stairs that go to the basement, and stairs to go upstairs! I got 3 floors to vacuum, and moving coffee tables aroun and lifting/shifting sofa/chairs around to get under them ain't sissy cleaning - I get a WORKOUT in!

i have tried telling hubby i needed one but after having a old vac down stairs and buying a new vac last year for the new carpet and the little stick vac for the hard wood floor and the steam vac for the tile,and the mop and swiffer he said enough was enough and i could just use the attachments on the new vac! get that CORE working! some times i like our little home (could not think of cleaning more!)

Ugh! Just got done sweeping, swiffering, vacuuming, and dusting. Goodness all the hidden hair everywhere! I use a Bissel too and really like it. I bought a new one a few months back. The first one got messed up, cause my boyfriend thought it would be quicker to use my vac to clean up some leveler when they were putting down new flooring instead of using a shop vac. Ever since then, it SCREAMS when you use it. Way too much for my little ears to handle! Seems like a pretty good vac if it can still work even after sucking up about a pound of leveler.
