As you all know I have a 3.5 year old husky Skye and 2 pups Apollo and Storm 3 months. This year I want to get back into bikejoring with Skye and this year I will be training Storm and Apollo obviously not pulling just commands so next year when they are a year and half old they can start. But what I need help with is I have a Working Spaniel cross working terrier Foxy she’s 1.2 old and was wondering if she would be okay with Skye pulling a bike obviously me peddling as well. When out on walks she can keep up with Skye running and playing and she will play with Skye for hours, also being a working breed she is energetic. So what I’m asking really is does any one have any experience bikejoring/sledding with a husky and another none husky breed and is it okay? Also eventually I would want a team of 4 being 3 huskies and a Foxy! Has any one had any experience with this or noes any one with experience and it works or doesn’t?!
Also Foxy is on the larger side of Spaniel I’d say 18 inches to the shoulder and 16 kg, she’s not fat very muscles and toned.

I guess really it would depend on if you can handle people laughing. Ive been contemplating doing something with spider. Spider doesnt do anything or go anywhere without splinter. So I'm looking at an 18lb terror hitched with a wolfdog and maybe if i was super adventurous also a bli d german shepherd. If foxy can keep up why wouldnt you include her? As for keeping up, splinter can run in circles around spider. Hes also faster. someone out on the east coast races a team of boston terriers and really if bostons can do it most dogs can.

So locally we have a race "woof creek challenge" in south fork Colorado its sanctioned and alot of recreational mushes have heeler or border collie mixes, ive seen a team of bloodhounds last year.

Not any more odd then the guy that rides his longhorn in local parades. And alot less odd then the couple that exclusively runs boston terriers.

I think if i was going to seriously race id go with eurohounds. Im hoping i can find some decent cheap equipment when ski season ends. Ive done skiijoring before, not with dogs but with a quarter horse i had. Anyway my issue is my back my doc said sports are basically out psych doc thinks i need to find something and if horses are out something needs to feed my speed and adrenaline addiction and my dogs need something to do.

I did find a sled for under 500$ thats ment for 1 dog but you want something with wheels.

That’s what I need! My dogs need exercise and I want to keep up with them, I’m walking 4/5 miles a day and they are off lead running up and down and nothing seems to wear Skye and Foxy out. I need a 3 wheeled scooter and they are £1000 and I will still need to buy the lines and harness. A second hand one is £600 the cheapest. I’ve done bikejoring with Skye but for 4 dogs I would want something a bit more sturdy with 3 wheels.

So this is what i was looking at https://www.amazon.com/Seeley-Slider-Wooden-Sled-Kicksled/dp/B00HY0B062/ref=pd_aw_sbs_468_1/144-8033771-7750254?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00HY0B062&pd_rd_r=a6006515-5b34-4e44-9d4d-29ecea50ce92&pd_rd_w=Pz4jy&pd_rd_wg=v5Ttg&pf_rd_p=04a082c4-27cb-406c-a719-b167a78b43ab&pf_rd_r=Y3979R5ZBB2CM4WKJ7AZ&psc=1&refRID=Y3979R5ZBB2CM4WKJ7AZ#

Seems like mountain board wheels could be mounted on it with a little modification but turning on skiis is different then wheels. Incase they call a mountain board something different in the uk its a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard and is made for going off the pavement.

1 more thing i came across are carts. I really dont see what the difference is between one for a dog, one for a mini horse and one for a goat.

That is so awesome. she looks great in harness and I'm sure loved the experience. Great way to tire a dog out so they won't pester you all night. lol. Wink
