Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| Prerequisites are BIG YARD (OPEN SPACE) and FIRM HANDLERS! "Dasher" is a Full-bred Siberian Husky (no AKC paper). Blue eyes. 60 lb. He is Housetrained, Crate Trained, Lead Trained, has Obedience training, good with Older Children, good with Large Dogs and Small Dogs, has updated Rabies, DHLPP and Flu vaccinations, on Heartworm and Flea/tick preventative. Very intelligent, fast learner, high energy. Loves to run and chews a lot when bored, plays fetch and jumps hoop. Has had group and private training. Has learned leash manners, basic obedience like sit, down, stay, heel, No! Out! No more! Quiet!. Making progress on- stay, come (and whistle recall), leave it, drop it and prey-guarding. Friendly toward people and other dogs. Previously had resource guarding of toys and leash/collar resistance, but were mostly corrected with help of professional trainer. Trainer said, “He was a puppy that had no rules and boundaries. He is a good dog, now that he knows rules and boundaries, but that must be maintained by the handler(s)” With leadership to look up to, he’s acting calmer and getting sweeter every day. Apparently he has just started to mature from puppyhood. He is socialized, confident and has a happy disposition. Great with cold weather, not so good in very hot weather. Rare for a Husky, he’s not keen on digging or running away from home and is not a barker. We humans recently ran into a lot of aging physical problems including an upcoming hip replacement (no more jogging with him) and our yard is too small. He needs a lot of exercise and a big open space to run in as well as loving humans yet strong handler(s). No little kids- at least for now. He lets little kids pass on walks with no issue, but has never interacted with them, so subject to evaluation. Neighbors love him. We have no other dog or cat at home, but he plays very well with big and small dogs in dog parks. He should make a great companion with another dog and a great jogging/hiking partner and by nature- a great sled dog. Snow country would be great for him! Rehoming fee $200 (includes supplies, toys etc. for local adopters.) (includes shipping cost for distant adopters.)
