| For whatever reason my Husky does not like eating in the morning, she prefers to get her entire days food in the late afternoon, right now shes eight months and 50 pounds. im giving her about 2 and 3/4ths cups a day according to the bag of food. does it matter how she eats it as long as she is getting it all in a day? |

| Others may disagree but that's their right. Where I am right now it's hot, like over 100F hot! my pups aren't really too interested in eating and it surprises me that it's the morning meal they seem less interested in. So I put the food out in the AM as normal and if they nibble some if it, fine. If not I put it up and then add the normal rest of it with their evening meal.
Most of the time, feeding "according to the bag" is overfeeding, my pups - all of them - get about two cups a day (and one of them still gains weight!) You might want to try putting her food out, like I do, and if she doesn't eat it add the rest of her normal to the evening meal - but I'd seriously consider cutting her back to two cups a day.
NOTE: we, as a culture, have fat dogs! Even most of the good vets would rather see a dog who's slightly(??) overweight than to see one who's underweight. We, generally speaking, don't recognize that a dog is overweight till we can stack them up to another of the breed who's at a good weight. (( I'm not saying she is, just something to consider ... )) _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| As long as she's eating enough to maintain a healthy weight then I wouldn't be too worried about how or when she goes about it throughout the day. Unless...you are considering getting another dog at some point. Then getting her to eat when you need her to eat is worth pursuing a bit more. Some dogs do better with a couple meals a day so that they don't get hunger pukes as they hit the long section of being without food. Other dogs do not and prefer to eat all at once so they do at some point feel full. Every dog is different in this respect. My female was a one and done grazer. I let her do this, but when I got a second dog who gets hunger pukes and will eat everything put out in one sitting regardless if it's a days worth or two days worth for both dogs, she had to make the transition to time determined meals and it was a little hard for her at first. _________________ |

| Agree with all of what AJ said
Ours haven't gone through a period where they didn't want to eat one of the meals, but if they did, I'd do exactly what AJ does. |

| Thanks and @AJ, I do exactly as you said, I still put it out, she just doesnt want any part of it until 5 pm or so. Recently changed foods so not sure if that plays a part (went to TOTW Pacific stream) from the stuff the breeder had us use, was some generic brand. Part of me thinks its because someone in the house was feeding her so much human food that she waits until the end of the day now in case she gets more from her (I put a stop to it, was making her sick the vet told me) |
