I am getting 2 Siberian Husky puppies in June. One is a girl and one is a boy, both going to be 5 months old. Currently, the puppies sleep in a large crate together. When I get the puppies I want to continue them sleeping each in their own little house. The breeder has taken the time to crate train/potty train them both, and they are responding well, sometimes accidents. My question is crate size. My end goal is the have crates only for them to sleep in at night, and to put in for maybe an hour or two if I have an appointment. Other than that they will roam the house and outside. Also, my end goal is for the dogs to have their own space or “house” if you know what I mean. Please give me advice. I was thinking a 42” for each, but could I get them smaller ones?

The grown size of the dogs may determine the crates you choose.  We have three different sized crates (we have three dogs).  Ginger, our Aussie uses a 36" crate that's slightly smaller than Mika's (different manufacturer).  Mika our 45lb female uses a 36" crate.  Max uses a 42" one because he's bigger.

Also we got the 42" so that we could transport both dogs in one crate in the car.  It works "ok".  It's a little tight, but we only take both of them if we are going on short trips.

36" is about right for Mika.  42" would give her extra stretching out room.  42" is about right for Max, but he usually sleeps on the floor all stretched out.

What you choose may also depend on space in your house or wherever you are going to put the crates.  Be sure to get crates with dividers so you can contain the dogs in smaller spaces until they need the larger space.  This is said to help with potty training.  e.g. if the crate is too big, they may potty in one side and sleep in another.
