| Our Husky has been ill for 2 weeks now..Very lethargic, won't eat..Took him to vet and got a urine test, Xrays, Blood work and abdominal ultrasound..The only thing that came up was low platelet count and no one knows why or where we go from here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

| They dont know what's wrong, we have him on antibiotics, appetite stimulant and now they are putting him on a round of steroids today. Suggested a possible specialist. Just wondering if anyone has seen this? |

| So he has no interest in any food?
Not eating kibble is one thing...not eating cheeseburger or a piece of grilled steak, is another...
Not saying you should feed him burgers and steaks! Just curious if he is ever interested in ANY food at all? |

| Ugh. In an old dog, to suddenly stop eating, I would worry. Probably should follow through on the second opinion. Any chance she got into something poisonous? Did your vet check thoroughly for lymph nodes? |

| Hopefully, either a second opinion sheds some light or the prednisone helps. |

| Quick look at petMD...mentions liver issues, systemic infections, cancer... I would also be inclined to see the specialist.
And dental issues....did they check that his teeth are ok, not painful? |

| You are going to need that second opinion. Get copies of everything your current vet has and take it with you to a different vet. They may need to get a bone marrow sample to see what's going on. At 10 it could be a number of things. As long as this dog has been this way you shouldn't waste any time. Not sure where you are but university vets can sometimes be good options. _________________ |
