2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. First year with my new husky mix, had a little trouble figuring out his mix until I asked around and got a DNA test and figured out hes 12% brittany. Breeder I got him from swore both parents were pure bred but apparently not. Me and him are gonna have a nice long chat about that one. Anyway hes still my best friend and he acts and looks mostly husky so I thought I'd join up here and try and get some advice on training and all that jazz.Looking for advice and some social interaction 20190215

Huskies of all levels are welcome. We even like to see people's non-huskies or even non-canines if people want to. There's a subforum for that. If you have any specific questions or issues you are dealing with just ask away.

I was trying to be nice and not say anything - but he sure looks a lot more than 12% of something else.

But he's a good looking pup and looks like he's a lot of fun. .... And shoot they let me in here with my non-Sibe (he's actually an Alaskan Husky which means he could be anything and I'm not about to do a DNA test on him - it's just confuse the poor testing people!)

His curled tale and his general shape say Husky, his ear set (and flop) say he's not; his eyes also aren't typical Husky, he's a round eye while most Huskies are "Almond Shaped" (whatever that is!) (( It's funny, in the first picture his eyes look Husky, in the second not so much ... ))

Like that third picture - "Momma, go 'way, leave me alone, can't you see I'm napping!" (( If I have your gender wrong, "oops, sorry!" ))

Believe me it's fine. It's been an ongoing debate in my house for the past year I'm pretty used to it. And that's the wierd thing about him. Sometimes he'll look really husky where if it weren't for his ears you'd think he was, but other times he'll sit or lay down a certain way and you'd think he was lab mix or so that's what was speculated at the time. But I used wisdom panel and it said 12.5% so I'm just gonna roll with it. I was told that that's a pretty reliable and affordable test so I'll stick with 12.5%. It was a bit of a bummer to find out that the dog I payed out the ass for (excuse my language) was mix. It was always my dream to get a beautiful purebred husky so it sucked to have that dream crushed cause people lie and I was an idiot for not making smarter choices. But in the end I wouldn't trade him for the world and he keeps me going every day. I'll stop my rant now before I bore whoever's reads this. I'm Male btw.

Welcome Kodiakwhite - What a cute pup! - As you noted, not a purebred; but a sweet companion. FWIW - Kona's not pure as far as we know either.

When I was a boy, our wolf hybrid's ears flopped. We were told he got GSD ears, but wolf muscles - just a thought on that.
