Hard to tell with these pictures. Pictures standing up and not partially covered by someone's arms would help. From what I can currently see I would say standard coat. Maybe a bit more plush than mom but not a wooly. A good coat rake is a great all around tool for whatever the hair type. Woolys you really need to keep up with the grooming. Don't fall behind on grooming them. A good wind can turn them into a matted mess. _________________

Groomer here, I agree with Jenn, definitely looks more standard than wooly but will have a substantial undercoat. You'll need to invest in an undercoat rake (the Paws Pamper version medium to large 13 blade), a greyhound comb, and a slicker brush to keep his coat tip top. Behavior wise huskies can be a handful so you HAVE to train them will their young or they will walk all over you. They are incredibly smart so you have to be firm so they view you as pack leader. You also need to socialize them A LOT! If this is all new to you I suggest some puppy classes to get you both started on the right paw (see what I did there). Good luck!

We're also looking for a better rake/ brush. Was going to suggest getting an undercoat rake but one with longer pins because of the denser/ deeper undercoat. @FURgirl - the PawsPamper version was suggested to me by a groomer at a self-wash the other day. They also mentioned the longer pinned rake. The PawsPamper blades don't seem very long (in the picture I saw). Are they long enough to get deep into a thicker undercoat? Our male has a very dense undercoat on his butt and back end. Also on his neck.

I picked up an undercoat rake when Ami's coat itself s wooly. Just a generic one Walmart. I've been very happy with it.

Ive actually found the best thing to use on the undercoat is a metal mane comb (yes as in for horses)
