An awkward issue with Z'ev Empty
PostSubject: An awkward issue with Z'ev   An awkward issue with Z'ev EmptySat Aug 04, 2018 5:13 pm

Z'ev's penis hangs out whenever he's eager about something. That's just a roll your eyes and source of amusement. But, about 2 weeks ago, I notice a white patch on the top of his tip. Sent photo to vet (Wayne and I were both wondering - candida or squamous cell carcinoma) but it went away 2 days later so we dropped it. Then, a few days ago it came back, bigger (no pun intended Razz ) and more like a lump this time. I called the vet this time and while I was waiting for return call, posted some pictures to the FB Empire state snow dog group. Yes - lots of laughter and comments (especially when I said I got the picture 'cause he always "hangs out" when he gets cheese.)

Nobody had a clue, vet called back and said, not much to worry about, she would see him this coming Wed. In the meantime, another gal posted that dogs have a bone in their penis and it can show white when the skin is pressed against it (who knew - I don't exactly do much study down there An awkward issue with Z'ev 1625187496 ) So now - either I'm going to have egg all over my face and embarrassed or..Z'ev has either a minor or major problem...

Anybody have anything like this?

Not going into any detail but this link has some amusing comments about your dogs "lipstick."

Interesting that the human male is the only primate (besides a spider monkey) that doesn't have the "os penis" - - learn something new every day here ... Smile

Kohdi takes out his lipstick once in awhile, I just tell him to put it away.

I hope with Z'ev everything checks out ok.

Haven't encountered this but do know that bone and the corresponding tubes in human males can be fractured so it's not something that isn't worth checking out. May not be fixable if old injury but might aid in knowing what effects it could have on continence issues going forward.

Razz So being a new dog owner all those years ago and to a male dog i took Jack in for this same issue Rolling Eyes
Vet looked at me and was like this white bump after making Jack really uncomfortable trying to "get it out", i said yep that thing. she laughed and told me it was the bone in his penis affraid So i would say its nothing to worry about. when Jack sits for food the tip pops out and then the white bump shows up and i don't worry about it any more!

glad im not the only one that freaked out Laughing

SHe mulls it over...guess embarrassment is better than, A: having to put anti-fungal cream on his penis twice a day for 2 weeks or more and B: Planning for surgery and possibly chemo Laughing

Now Ami is sick. Or has a tooth problem I can't see. Didn't eat last night, ignored his after dinner bone. Woke up to sounds of retching...

Is that scrambled, poached or sunny side up??  Y'know Amy, if we all knew everything about our dogs then we wouldn't need to be here.

One long tour overseas took the idea of prudishness and tossed it for me.  I mean, shoot, my initiation to Japan was getting up the morning after I arrived, heading into the military (communal) shower - and having mamasan walk in wrapped in a towel as she proceeded to clean the shower - with neér a thought about my being there, "buck" at the same time.

*I* didn't know that most mammals actually had a bone in their penis; didn't even think about it but it was interesting to find out ... hmmm, that's weird!!!

That a real part of why I'm here; there is such a wealth of knowledge to be had and it seems as if most people know a lot of things that I don't - and nope, at my age, there's still a lot to learn.

Sure hope that the little missy starts feeling better soon. Dentists - of all varieties - seem to be atrociously expensive!!
