I'm building a dog run, it's 20' x 8' this a sufficient size area, and also after that I'm building a doghouse, what demensions should it be, I'm worrying the 8' width might be a problem

Should be fine for normal containment. I wouldn't suggest it for full-time containment as in the dog only comes out of it for walks. As for dog houses that depends on the size of your dog. Sizing it similar to a properly fitted crate should work. My crate is a 48 inch crate.

Thanks for the reply, no the backyard is her domain, it's for her to go in when we have family get together or when we leave that way I know she's secured, I'm laying chicken wire under the fence as well, and I live in Texas, I know it gets real hot here so when I build her doghouse I'm gonna put a small window unit in it

No one's mentioned and you haven't said - how tall is this dog run? Considering Huskies have been known to easily clear 6 ft you might want to consider that?
