| Hi there! I found a beautiful blue eyed husky cross at the local rescue and I have been having a time taking guesses with my friends at what she might be mixed with. I think I have a couple good ideas but I also wanted to ask the internet, and there is no better people to ask than husky enthusiasts. This is all for fun and interest I know that it's very hard to guess by eye, and especially by the internet but still fun. Her name is Aurora because of those eyes! Thanks! |

| My guess would be lab and heeler.
If you ever want more than a guess though embark and wisdom panel offer dna tests for breeds and genetic health risks. Anytime you could be dealing with cattle dog potential it never hurts to check for the mdr1 gene mutation as it can affect medication reactions. Welcome to the forum! _________________ |

| Hello Jenn, thank you! I have thought heeler and I loooooove heelers. I was also thinking collie because of the adjacent marks on her face and spots on her nose and her one floppy ear lol. I was guessing lab to because of the hair length. I think if she was a collie cross all her hair would be decently puffy. But she is quite small for a lab cross if that is in there because she is just above my knee and I am a short person lol. I do want to get a dna test done in the near future, for sure! But I'll keep guessing till then! |

| If there is heeler in there that could explain the short stature. I had a dog that was Lab/Pit-Collie/St Bernard. You would think he would have been a large longish haired dog, but he wasn't. He was just a nondescript black dog about the size of the Pit (knee high but 80lbs) with the lab hair length, a really broad st bernard head and not much sign of collie at all. Genetics are complex and interesting. You just really never know what could happen when you start mixing things. _________________ |
