It's a calming aid, time released. Made by NaturVet.

Nutmeg has been a bit stressed in her crate while we're at work. She seems to have some mild separation anxiety. Nothing like when we first got her--that was ROUGH! affraid Sometimes she messes in her crate, sometimes she howls and paces in circles in the crate. And sometimes she just gets wound up she paces around the house. Of course, the more exercise she gets the better she is, but it still doesn't solve the separation anxiety. With my back injury, I can't take her for long walks or do anything high impact right now, so I thought something like Rescue Remedy or a calming aid in general might help her take that edge off until I can exercise her more again.

I tried it this weekend while we were home so we could watch her and make sure there would be no ill side effects. Fact is, it WORKED! She was a very chill dog, laid around the house happily, gnawed on her bones etc. She still ran around and played plenty, but she wasn't as rough or over the top crazy-puppy-high-energy as she normally is. I won't be giving it to her every day, but I do think it will probably do what we need for her in her crate while we're at work.

Active ingredients are:
150 mg Chamomile Flower
100 mg Passion Flower
100 mg Thiamine Mononitrate
50 mg Ginger
30 mg L-Tryptophan

Inactive ingredients:
Beta carotene, Dicalcium Phosphate, Dried Whey, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Magnesium Stearate, Maltodextrins, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Montmorillonite Clay, Natural Coloring, Natural Flavoring, Non-Fat Dry Milk, Peanut Butter Flavoring, Silica Aerogel, Stearic Acid and Vegetable Oil

It cost about $12 for a 30 tablet bottle at Petco.

Nice to know! Is Quiet Moments something similar to Rescue Remedy?

I think it's very similar. Rescue Remedy says their formula is made from 5 flower essences. Their website didn't have much info, but Valley Vet is great on posting manufacturer label info on their site, so I got this from there:

Rescue Remedy:

Active Ingredients:

HPUS 5x dilution of Helianthemum nummularium, Clematis vitalba, Impatiens glandulifera, Prunus cerasifera, Ornithogalum umbellatum.

Inactive Ingredients:
80% glycerine, 20% water

Personally, I think it's easier feeding something like this in a big tablet form, but you can also put the rescue remedy drops on a treat. I believe like most liquid homeopathic that it's more effective if just put directly on the tongue though.

Hmmmm.... since Sabaka is determined to eat all my shrubs and plants ANYWAY.... if I plant some Clematis and Impatiens and whatever other plants correspond to these latin names.... he might eat the plants and fall into a peaceful slumber for a few hours!?! Laughing

I don't think so, but I thought I'd share my fun mental image anyway!!
