| Hi everyone Would just like to say a quick Hi. We stumbled across the forum looking for info on what to do when a Husky swallows a squeaker. Our devious little madam stole a toy off the side and ate the tail complete with squeaker while I left her with my boss and ran to the shop to grab lunch. Our Husky is a 7 month old called Floki - Norse goddess of mischief - certainly is too but we love her all the same. Chris & Kelly This is Floki a few months back. |

| Welcome! This is a great place for info and advice.
As for the squeaker, well, it depends. Squeakers come in different sizes. If it was a smaller one, you may not have any issues. A 7 month old husky should be a fairly large dog, and it's possible the squeaker will pass through without any issues and minimal discomfort. If it's a larger squeaker, it may become lodged and cause issues. Several things you can or should do:
1. Watch her health and behavior. If she starts eating less, or is having problems going number 2, you'll want to contact your Vet asap. Lethargy, vomiting, tender tummy area, or other behavior can be an indication of a problem also. These are signs that the object may be lodged and causing a problem.
2. Feed her some canned pumpkin. Not the pie filling stuff, but the straight up pumpkin pie in a can without additives and seasoning. Dogs love the stuff and it can help lubricate her insides allowing the device to move out of her system.
3. Call your Vet now and talk to them for advice. I'm just some idiot on the internet, your Vet has training and experience.

| Hi there Thanks for the advice. She is now fairly big yes. So far it does not seem to have bothered her any. i think you are correct and the best idea is just to monitor her and see if it passes over the next day or so. Thanks Kelly |

| You said the tail *and* the squeaker...does that mean she swallowed material as well? That *could* be an issue then because it could create a blockage, and that would be very bad. Kmanweiss gave very good advice, I would only stress that if she has issues going no.2, it becomes an emergency and you have to act fast.
Welcome to the forum, I just posted in your other thread, your Floki is gorgeous! |

| Yes a little bit of material too. Nothing has emerged yet. She went no2 yesterday ok. Shes just gone for her 1st outing today so shall see what happens when her daddy brings her back. From what we have read it can take a couple of days. She had her worm treatment that morning too. |

| Ah, Floki, so cute. I had a Loki and he lived up to the name. I was wondering if you got the name from Norse Mythology or from the show Vikings? |

| Hey Loki and Floki are interchangeable. Goddess of mischief from what we found in our research. Its also same for both male and female. |

| It's an awesome name! I find the name Loki or Floki definitely suits the husky traits. |
