My Husky was bitten and I have a question. Empty
PostSubject: My Husky was bitten and I have a question.   My Husky was bitten and I have a question. EmptyWed Nov 23, 2016 2:06 am

Hello all,

I have a question and hopefully someone can help me or if there is anything that can be done.

My Husky was bitten at my local dog park by another husky while she was running around minding her own business and the dog T-boned her and ripped into her side, the owner didn't think anything of it and never apologized nor she trains her dog not to be aggressive, we have been back to the dog park and the lady never said anything but she did pay the $900 medical bill my question is, is there anything I can do for the hair to grow back near her scar? She had a beautiful coat and I know it's not going to look the same anymore but if anybody has some kind of home remedy or have been through something like this?

The reason I'm asking is because her coat is short and any scars will show as you can see by the 4th picture with the two Huskies she has a black indentation from another dogs tooth puncture on her other side(I think I need to find a new dog park) about 4-5 months ago and it still shows. (the last picture is what it looks like now)

Thanks you, as sorry this sounds like a rant its just I'm a bit pissed off.

Coconut oil, I swear by it. Give 1/2 teaspoon a day, for a few days then 1 full teaspoon. If her stitches are ok to being moist, rub coconut oil on the spot as well. I have 3 instances where I have used it and discovered how great it worked. My gsd pup sliced her paw pad open, and she probably needed stitches, I rubbed the oil in and about a week and a half it was healed. After her spay on September 8, gave oil daily mixed into her food, her hair is almost completely grown back in. lastly my husky girl had a pink spot and hair was gone, again I added it into her food and less than a month spot was gone and all her fur was back. Hope that helps. Smile Poor girl, yep dog park change is needed.

I would change dog parks and maybe even file a complaint with the city who is supposed to govern that park that it isn't being managed well. There should be a process to handling outbursts or some kind of complaint form to help them police people misusing or endangering others in the park I would think. I have nothing to add above Renee. I love coconut oil. It is an amazing healer.

Time to stop watching movies for a while ...  but if you get a chance to watch Soldiers of Change do!

I've never had a dog who's been as badly mauled as yours but I have to agree that I'd find a new dog park and find out who's responsible for the one you were using.  Probably, like most city and county parks one uses them at your own risk ... that should not excuse those who have known problem dogs, who bring them to the park and then have the audacity to say "Well, he's never acted like that before!"  I have to admit that I'm astounded that she paid the vet bill - or possibly that was to simply short circuit an expected suit.

I'll have to keep coconut oil in mind - but I'd be surprised if even that would completely cover that wound.  Scar tissue just doesn't support hair growth well.

And if that was a rant, it was *very* mild given the circumstances.  Had I been in your shoes, I think I'd have been a royal terror on a tear!!!

wow that's so sad to hear, but at least she paid the bill. some people i have heard just pack up and leave before anyone is the wiser.
i would find a better dog park or setup a play date with a dog that she dose get along with. i just hope is isn't afraid or traumatized to go and be with other dogs.

Your story about your dog makes me so sad!! I'm so sorry that happened to you guys Crying or Very sad I definitely think coconut oil is a great solution. If you would like to try another product, a good one that I would recommend is the Skin Salve from Dr. Rose's Remedies. This is a natural product that helps with things such as inflammation, itching, etc., and it will help with anti-scarring. You could get it on Amazon or on their website http://www.drrosesremedies.com/salve/ Hope this helps!
