2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. So my puppy is 8 weeks old. Before I got her she was eating canned Puppy Pedigree food. I was really hoping to have her on Taste of the Wild as that seems to come highly recommended by you all but my local Petco and pet quarters don't have the puppy bags. Just the adult bag. I talked with the sales guy and he recommended Merrick grain free puppy recipe. So I started shifting her into that today but I am wondering if there is a better alternative that you guys can recommend. If not I may just order Taste of the Wild online.

I tried a couple of different brands before getting to Merrick Limited Ingredient food for Zhukov. It was the first food that he really seemed to enjoy and that was ok for his stomach.

I believe the merrick is a good food. But you can order totw online from chewys.com. if you order over 49. Shipping is free and the food is usually about $5 cheaper than in the store, no tax and your first auto ship is about 15% off you can choose an interval that fits you(i get 2 30# bags every 13 weeks or so. And you can change your interval any time... if your running low, order early. Several times. I've ordered early afternoon and the food is on the porch the next morning!

There's nothing wrong with Merrick, it's a good food and one I prefer over TOTW. Again, there is no one perfect food. I would continue your transition and just see how she does on it. No need to rush into another food which increases the likelihood of stomach upset. If she does well on the Merrick then decide whether to stick with Merrick, perhaps in a different flavor, or switch over to TOTW if you want to give that a try down the road. I strongly encourage rotation diets so there's no harm in rotating between several brands and formulas that your dog does well on.

I feed my 7.5 month old Acana puppy and junior and he loves it. No corn, soy and grain free. Acana makes top quality kibble. He's been eating acana since he was 8 weeks old and no problems. It is expensive but Chewy offers some good deals.

Merrick is an excellent food! If your pup is doing well on it, I don't see any reason to switch; it's one of the best dry foods available.

That said, we tried Merrick and my dog wouldn't eat it. She only like Orijen Six Fish, the little diva. I ended up giving the rest of the Merrick to a homeless man with a dog since the shelter wouldn't take it.
