| Hi everyone name is Luey, obviously I'm new here. I'm here to learn about huskys as we have recently rescued one from the side freeway she is not chipped did not have any kind of collar or leash. When we found her she was with a male husky, we found his owners that day. they showed me plenty of pics and he was happy to see them. they said she was not their dog. We are looking for her owners and have posted on craigslist, instagram and facebook with no luck. I have even went out and put up fliers around the area where we found her its been a week with no luck. She was very skinny with ribs showing through her coat so we have been feeding her a mix of blue buffalo kibble and canned since in the beginning she would not eat just the kibble. she has been getting daily walks of an hour and is fine with that. we have another dog a Corgi who she loves to play with so she gets plenty of exercise in the back yard chasing and being chased. she is on her period which is a first for us since our Corgi is a male. how do we deal with that? since she was with a male husky is there a higher chance that she might be/get pregnant? the male was not fixed and he would try and mount her any chance he got. she is the black and white one, the male is the golden colored one our corgi |

| Have you tried posting in the h2m2s? I've seen a lot of people find their dogs on that. Do your grocery stores let you post flyers? Ours here have sections for that. Umm... I'm out of ideas beyond that. Do animal shelters let you leave flyers with them? That would be the first place I looked if I lost loki. |

| I have put a flyer up at the animal shelter that this dog would have been taken too. also I have left flyers at vets in the area. |

| She more than likely came from within the same neighborhood as the red boy so fliers there would be your best bet. How far from home were these two? (Well, the red one atleast).
Thank you for saving them!!! Just seeing that pic of them in your car is a bit of a haunting pic. I would go absolutely crazy if mine ever got out and left. |

| No one asked, so I have to - your Corgi is neutered?? If not you're potentially in for a surprise.

| There is a shot your vet can give to abort any potential puppies if you wish to take that step with her. It didn't used to be terribly expensive. If it seems like you maybe stuck with her or are not going to find the owner it might be a good option to take some stress off you until you have a more set plan. _________________ |

| It's worth checking into, Jenn, but isn't there a fairly short window of opportunity for that?
"Stuck with a Husky" that's as pretty as she is??? Jenn, such a choice of words!!!! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| If she is still in heat or close it should still work. We used it on a dog that was a few days out of her third week of heat and it worked.
Lol. I will rephrase. If you decide to keep her, this is a viable option to save you from having to tackle pups and a mama dog. _________________ |
