Lethargic about food Empty
PostSubject: Lethargic about food   Lethargic about food EmptyMon Aug 03, 2015 2:03 pm

Bandit has been pretty lethargic about food lately. She eats it all just not at the normal feeding times. She will sniff it, put it in her mouth then just drop it. Other times She dives right in. For the past two weeks it has been going on. Some days she is a lazy blob and others hyper as hell. She used to get super excited about food now not so much. She still eats it all though eventually. Maybe lack of excersize? I have been pretty busy lately so we don't always get our daily walk in. Or is it her just being a husky? Maybe try a new food?

Cut back a bit on the quantity - she is older now and not growing quite so rapidly. Also, the reduction in exercise could very well be reducing her appetite.

But...someone needs to walk the girl, if not you, maybe a relative? A dog walker?

Okay the last few days I've put other things on hold to include most excessive time with Bandit. Back to at least one walk a day and a generous amount of play time with myself. Still a little picky about eating. I have to persuade her to eat. Pretend I beat her food and then she will eat it. Maybe it's time for a new food? Currently taste of the wild is what I'm feeding her

I wouldn't suggest changing her food if it doesn't cause any stomach upset and is giving her solid and healthy looking eliminations. I would suggest making the time to walk your dog every day, or hiring a dog walker.

In addition to this, it isn't the end of the world if a dog skips a meal. As long as he/she is eating regularly enough and not avoiding food/treats day after day, I don't think it is much to worry about. My dog skips meals frequently and other days he will wolf everything down in a heartbeat. He is at a very healthy weight because of his seldom skipped meals and daily exercise.

She's just being a diva... I'll pretend to eat some and she will pretend to be interested. She wants me to hand feed her lol such a spoiled rotten girl. So I've been hand feeding half then just holding the bowl for the rest.
