Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | My wife (mdrysdale) and I would like to introduce Akira - our very first Siberian Husky/Samoyed cross puppy. We got her, 2 weeks ago, when she was only 7 weeks old - yes we know that's a little young but she was already separated from her mother and the other pups in the litter were really picking on her. When we went to get her, she was "hiding as usual." She lived outside before we had the privilege of bringing her home with us. She has adjusted well to her crate and even lets us sleep a good 5-6 hours before she starts asking to go outside to potty. We have been working with her and she is a great walker already too. A bit torn on how much we get her to "heel" because we are hoping to be able to train her to pull a kicksled/dog scooter when she is older, but also want her to be a well behaved family dog. Working on finding that balance...hopefully with some guidance from any skijor enthusiasts here. We are super impressed at how fast she learns things - which means we definitely need to be consistent so she learns all the right things! Glad to have found a group of people with a love for Huskies! |

| Welcome! Your pup is adorable. Can't wait to see more pictures of her as she grows up! I am pretty new here myself. The amount of information here and how helpful people are make this an awesome forum! |

| Thanks for all the puppy love! The name Akira was found by our oldest daughter - it means "bright" or "intelligent" which suits her perfectly! |
