She looks light red to me, it looks like her pigment is black though and reds usually have a liver colored pigment, but I guess it can work both ways, she doesn't look sable though or anything from the grey/white family. How old is she now? Looks like she will be very light regardless, very pretty girl

Reds do not have black pigment. Though I agree she doesn't look sable and that's too much 'buffing' to be gray I think at this point- she is purebred?

Jimmy She is 14 weeks and 2 days old , that's what I was thinking that she will stay pretty light anyway , and no she isn't purebred her father was a Copper coloured husky and mother was a white germansheperd and white husky so who really knows how those genes will turn out

| I thought reds couldn't have black pigment and posted that once here on this site only to be corrected that they could (or maybe it was black markings, hmmm, I don't remember) anyways, she is adorable!
Huskymom, what about a white? Often whites will have a reddish hue to them, Cora though might have too much red in her for that but just curious

So she likely won't follow the typical Siberian color chart.

White, genetically, is a pattern more than it is a color as all whites are either red factored (liver pigment) or gray factored (black pigment)-

No, not stupid at all the way we learn is to ask! So, if your white Siberian has liver pigment, genetically it is red. If your white Siberian has black pigment, genetically it is gray/black.

Ahh, ok. Thanks so much.!! So Cora's color really does have more to do with the German Shephard in her assuming that GSD was pure bred?

I would ponder a guess that the white Siberian on the mother's side was red factored (as in has the liver pigment making her genetically red), red being recessive, paired with the red sire gave her the red coat....but the German Shepherd gave her the black pigment. That is only an 'semi-educated' guesstimate.
