| Hello, I just got my husky about a week ago, he's 8 weeks old. Still learning more and more about him and about Huskies in general. I was just wondering what are some good quality dog food, and treats? A friend of mine bought me some Purina Beneful Healthy Smile, Purina Beneful Baked Delights, and Purina Busy Bone treat, are they any good for the husky? Do you give your dog wet food, if so, what are some good quality ones also? Just very nervous and don't want to hurt the dog or anything.
Thank You! Appreciate any information you can provide! |

| There'r a couple of really good ones that people on here will suggest so I'll let them ...
Take a look at what you have available to you, either in the grocery store (normally not a good choice), your local pet store (better), from your vet (again normally *not* a good choice) and from different web sites. Then take a look at that dog food on DogFoodAdvisor.
(( web is really slow .... sorry, I wuit )) _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Many of us on here feed grain free food. Depending on your budget there is a fairly wide range of food you could get. 4 or 5 star foods on food advisor are recommended. I tend to shy away from Purina anything. They used to be bad about sourcing out of the USA even if their product says made in the USA. _________________ |

| It's expensive, but I LOVE Orijen. I was using blue wilderness and didn't care for it, but I swear by Orijen. I've seen a huge difference in her coat and energy. However, it is VERY expensive... |

| I feed taste of the wild, high prairie as a good compromise between cost and quality. Dogs love it, it's widely available and makes for nice compact easy to pick up poop. |

| I feed my boy Dr. Tim's Kineses. It's a great food made in USA, it's an all life stage kibble. The only problem for some could be that its not available at any of their local pet stores but I order 30pound bags on chewy.com. I actually like that it's not available heavily to the masses. If there was ever a time that Dr. Tim's stops making food then I have plans to switch to Taste of the Wild or Merrick. By the way if you're looking for good canned/wet food options, check out Merrick. They have some awesome canned recipes. Every once in a while I mix up a can of Merrick's Puppy Plate Recipe to his kibble and he goes crazy. That stuff actually smells good that I've thought about tasting it lol. For treats we like to make peanut butter pumkin cinnamon cookie treats and I like to buy treats from Merrick. |

| We switch ours around on acana and petcurean GO! They can be picky eaters at times, also it's best not to feed the same food all the time, since they can build up a allergy to it. You don't have to switch brands of you don't want but switching up the flavors will help. Since acana and petcurean are very similar in protein we don't mix it like you would if you was to completely change the diet. We just mix a little of it just to be on the safe side. Only one store in our town sells those brands and we know they are trust worthy because they do not sell science diet. I've also heard Canidae is a good choice too but I think petco sells that now? |

| I'm also going to throw in Taste of the Wild. Adult and puppy formulas. They're usually sold at tractor and feed stores. I don't give my dog wet food. There's usually too much fat in it and the dog will start refusing to eat the dry food. |
