| I wasn't sure where to post this so I figured here would be the best place. It is an issue I'm asking about, but it's also a VERY funny story. So let's begin with the back story. I just moved out of the house and into an apartment. My roommates are not moving in for a few days, so it gives Koda and I some time to settle before other people come in. So Sunday night is the first night there. She did okay, but I could definitely tell she was a little uncomfortable. The next morning I woke up and put Koda outside while I took a shower (my morning ritual). Once I got out of the shower and went outside, this is the face that greeted me... I was slightly angry, but couldn't do anything about it because I'm the one who should have foreseen the digging. I took all of her stuff out of the crate except for a toy or two so she wouldn't get anything dirty, and I move her crate to the bathroom so that when all the dirt falls off of her, I can easily clean it up. I go to work at 9 and come home at 2. *WARNING* if you have a light stomach, DO NOT PROCEED! I open the door to the apartment and IMMEDIATELY am overtaken with the pungent Oder of dog poop. This is where the story gets.... Complicated... I open the door to the bathroom and what greets me is alittle unseemly. She is brown.... Not from the dirt, but poop. She had pooped in her crate and had a good ole' time rolling around in her own feces. The wall of the bathroom had speckles of fecal matter strewn up and down for maybe 4 feet on all sides. The bathroom floor was covered, and the crate..... The trauma of what I saw nearly brought me to my knees. I pick her up and carry her outside to sit for a while so I could clean the bathroom. As I clip her lead on her, the mom of one of my roommates shows up... Alittle background about me, I'm a worry wart. I'm constantly worried what people are saying in their heads about me, and with my roommates, I'm constantly worried about how they feel about Koda. So back to the story. The apartment was basically a gas chamber at this point. Entering was a no go unless you had a gas mask. So eventually my roommate comes to move some stuff in and we all enter. After three hours the bathroom is cleaned but still the smell lingers on. So 7 candles, all of the windows open, all of the fans turned on, and a huge jug of bleach later, the smell is gone. It was one of those days that make hard liquor on a Monday acceptable... They say these are the days you will miss......... They lied... Anyway the moral to the story is she either ate something in the hole she dug that made her sick, OR she is just uncomfortable in the new apartment. I gave her some pepto yesterday afternoon and last night and she seemed fine, so if I don't come home to the same thing today (please God don't do it again!), the vet said it shouldn't be a big deal. Have any of you had issues with moving with a dog? Can gastrointestinal discomfort stem from stress? |

| Moving is very stressful on dogs, so I would agree that the GI issues was from being somewhere that she doesn't know and being uncomfortable and stressed out. Hope it doesn't happen again today |

| I feel for you. The 2 d night we had Ami, I had jury duty first thing in the morning. Ami was initially crated at night on our shop with crate on 10 x 12 sheet of plastic.
Fortunately.
I came to take him for a walk before leaving and there was a 4 ft diameter ring of liquid poop surrounding the whole crate. And splattering the tractor. Looked like he was a turret gunner and machine gunned the place with diarrhea.
I had to leave. Husband was a saint and cleaned up... with a you owe me, big time!
So yes, I believe the stress of moving probable upset her. |

| My bet is that she ate something she shouldn't have. I'd definitely have a look at that area to see if there is a plant or something that might make her sick again. |
