Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Bandit has always been a chewer. Since day one. She has never chewed on things that weren't hers. That's always good. Still to this day 1 year and 2 days old she is a determined chewer. I feel like she chews her toys to destroy them. Is this normal? It's only the hard chews. Its almost like she is mad at them Lol I HATE YOU SO IM GONNA CHEW YOU UP haha am I just looking into to far? Well the real question is when do your dog's fall out of the chewing phase, if ever? It doesn't bother me I just wanna make sure it isn't a sign of some sort ya know |

| Chewing is a good discharge of energy. Archer, even when he is here and has played rough and tumble with Ami for hours, still has a determined chew...he'll gnaw on his bones for hours. He is about the same age as Bandit. Ami also gets a good gnaw on his bone but will bury it before Archer.
I don't think Bandit is trying to destroy things - I thing she is just using up pent up energy. |

The determination is for the act of chewing. Period. Anything else is anthropomorphic. |

| I don't even buy Brady stuffed animal toys anymore. He will literally shred them in minutes. Harder toys last longer for him, it probably just depends on dog preference I would assume. You're lucky Bandit only chews on her toys. Brady has so far been pretty good about "his" things, but my old significant others husky was awful. Anything you left out was (in his dogs mind) fair fame to shred to pieces! |

| From 4months to current 9years old my oldest one only does anything with toys when it can be destroyed. She gets in the mood and tears a tiny hole in the stuffed toys to carefully destuff and desqueaker them. She mostly likes frozen food items, high quality bully sticks (won't touch most sold in pet stores), etc... to entertain herself. She will not put something in her mouth if she isn't eating it or destroying it. She would never fetch or tug. Niji is the first dog I've had who actually fetches repeatedly and plays with her toys on her own without destroying them. |
