| Only had my girl Akira for 4weeks, but training and adjustments going well. Can't wait to get all the info I can to make a good home. Yes I am in tx and it will get incredibly hot, but since I have met at least a dozen owners not expecting too many problems. Thank you. |

| Hello Akira's momma (daddy?) welcome to you from the Big Bend region of our great state!! Now, may I ask you to please go fill out the rest of your profile? We know that Akira's the pup and that you live in Texas but how about a name for you and a location. Maybe we can get enough of us in one general area to have a get together here in the Lone Star State ....
Since I live on the northern end of the Chihuahuan desert, I can attest to the fact that Husky's can live here; they may spend a good part of the day inside, in the shade but it's possible; just make sure you have a plentiful supply of water available all the time! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| Ah, thanks you Jacob - shoot, there're enough of you over in the Houston area to have a good weekend get together. At one time I would have suggested the beach between Galveston and the San Luis Pass but that's all grown up now and the area north of Crystal Beach on the peninsula is getting just as bad (though I don't know what it's like now, the last time I was there was before the hurricane that tried to blow the Bolivar away) but I would still think that a good beach walk would be pleasant for all involved. 'Course, you might not make it home with that pretty little pup you have there (teasing, of course) she's definitely show stopper pretty!! Houston (all of the Gulf Coast, really) have an additional challenge in keeping their dogs comfortable over the summer. Since they cool themselves by evaporation - panting ( and I'm sure you know that ) it's harder to keep them cool over there than it is over here where the temperatures are higher but the humidity is so much lower. (( Want me to watch her for you over the summer??? )) _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| What a pretty pup. Glad things are going well. I've never found the heat to be too big an issue as long as they have access to water and you recognize their limits. _________________ |

| Welcome fellow Houstonian! We've been lucky in having some extended cool weather here this year which has made it easy for Mylo and I to go to the park for our daily 30-40 minute walk/run. I myself am curious to see how my fluffy boy handles the summer heat. @aljones it would be awesome to have a Houston husky meeting! I would be glad to join in. |

| @Davecerv - then it's going to be up to you all to get it going ... remember I'm on the other side of the state now. It's a l.o.n.g way from the Big Bend to the Gulf coast!! When I was getting ready to retire I made that trip on a few weekends - I wasn't worth nada on Monday morning after spending 20 out of the 60 hours driving!! But damn, it could be fun!!! couldn't it!!! _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |

| I am going to take her to that dog park in downtown when the weather clears up. Probably bring the kids too. I know I can just goggle the name, but has anyone been? I am sick to death of this rain. Anyone know the name of the park, my coworker said there were some restrictions to it, but I am not sure. |
