Puppy pees when around Men Empty
PostSubject: Puppy pees when around Men   Puppy pees when around Men EmptyFri Jan 14, 2011 11:07 pm

After reading Huskyluv's thread about the submissive female sibe peeing when she got close to her, I wanted to ask what this means? Willow has done this with my son since day one of bringing her home. I noticed she did this when a male relative approached her as well. I feel like she isn't scared because she always runs to my son everytime he walks in the door and wants his attention. She even jumps all over him so I told him to ignore her until she calms down. No one is a stranger to her, she always wants people's attention when we are out walking and she sees someone. She has peed twice when my son reached down to get her ball to throw for her, once when he reached down to pet her after she ran to him for his attention. Her ears are always pinned back when this happen. That means submission, right? Tonight he snapped his fingers at me playfully and she peed. It's so weird! Some insight would be great and what should my son work with her on to stop her peeing with him FYI, she doesn't do this evertime...

It does sound like Willow is engaging in submissive peeing. I don't have time right now to get into dealing with it but I'm sure others will offer some advice and you can always google "submissive peeing in dog" and get a lot of hits with great ideas and advice. I've got to run and get ready for our playdate now. Smile

Hmmm, Mya always pees when greeting people at home (especially those she really loves like my dad, sister in law, and best friend). I always have the paper towel handy while she's greeting them. Her ears are pinned back also. I've always thought it 's because she gets so excited that she pees.

I assumed she reacted that way with my son because he reminded her of the man who we got her from. When I googled it, they pretty much all said the same thing so here are just two of what I read about this.
