Does anybody here feed this to their dogs? It's what the breeder I got my husky from fed all their dogs. It seems like Kya likes it, but doing some reading, I see there was a recall on it earlier this year.

Diamond had some issues with salmonella contamination a few months ago, which was actually more a danger to humans than dogs. We feed Taste of the Wild here, which is produced by Diamond, and haven't had any issues. Check out www.dogfoodadvisor.com, it has great info on different foods.

We feed Taste of the Wild as well and have had no issues. My girls have been on it for 9 months and seem to be healthier than they've ever been before. I also feed the feline version to my cats, and I swear I think the food switch saved the life of one of them. He had mysteriously began dropping weight and had lost almost 1/2 his body weight when we switched, and within 2 months he was back to his normal self and has had no problems since. I recommend it to every pet owner I know.

I was Suprised at the low score diamond food had on dog advisor (I used to feed it) and it's only 3/5 and TOTW is 5/5 which was strange to me. I since have switched to TOTW.

Kylah has been on diamond naturals chicken and rice for about 2 weeks now and is not having solid bowel movements. Will this get better?

Melissa, what was Kylah eating before? Often times it will take 3 to 4 weeks for a dog to get settled on a new food. Did you transition slowly? If not then it's her body regulating itself to the new food. I did want to make sure you are talking about your adult dog and not the puppy. If it's the puppy, she may have an intolerance to an ingredient, the rice or chicken may bother her, or it could just be her adjusting. Was she doing well on her old food? What was she eating?

Even if both dogs came from the same mom and dad, they may have to eat 2 different types of food, every tummy is different. Finding one that agrees with the dog with the more sensitive tummy will probably be the best way to feed. Always transition slowly. I also remind people with new pups, keep on hand can pure pumpkin, for the pup a tablespoon should help(do so a couple days in a row), for Kylah a couple tablespoons should help.

Kylah was on authority before, so i took over a week to switch her over. Now she has been on 100% diamond for about a week. The puppy is still on her puppy food, but in a few months I wanna try giving her diamond as well.
I'll try the pumpkin, thanks for the advice Very Happy
