| Hello Everyone! Just wanted to introduce ourselves and our new 9 and a half week pup Klaus! My boyfriend and I are first time Husky owners so we'll be visiting here quite often, we've already found so many helpful tips. Klaus has been a great pup so far. We were nervous when we first brought him home because he wanted nothing to do with us, and didn't even like to be pet. Although within the week that we've had him he's warmed up to us a lot! He was kept outdoors and I think he was very timid about being in the house at first. His first couple days of training seem to be going well, he doesn't bother the cat too much, seems to understand when we say no, and he sleeps in his crate from 10pm to 5am without a mess (for now). However he does not like going back in after getting up, or when we're not home! I wasn't even aware a puppy could make some of the noises he can make! He's still timid around new people but we plan on taking him everywhere we can, especially around the holidays to get him more socialized. He's had two baths since he came home however the white of his fur still has a yucky yellow tint, any tips on what could help get this out? I'll be seeing you all around! |

| There are a lot of great suggestions on cleaning white fur in this thread. Stained white fur?My girl tends to either clean it off herself or shed any deep stains away. She got into pile of soot one time and we just had to wait it out for that to go away on its own and it totally did. Welcome to the forum! _________________ |

| Hey there Michigander! What a cute pup. The first thing that comes to my mind.... are you a Vampirs Diaries/The Originals fan per chance? That would be hilarious.... I will explain if you have no idea what I am talking about.
Thr groomers have some sort of whitening cleaning shampoo, idk maybe you can get it yourself? But it takes a few times to get the yellow out.... but don't over bathe, it irratates their skin.
It takes time for puppies to get used to their new family, especially if they were raised in a different environment- since he was an outdoor dog, now an indoor. He will perk up once he gets to know and trust you guys, and fall into a routine.
Yeah husky puppies are very loud. Lol have fun with that!
Welcome to the forum, if you want, there is a group on FB husky huddle malamute mingle michigan. It is a group that meets up together all over Michigan, usually once a month, and just hang with the dogs. It is a lot of fun! You'll have to wait till your pup is spayed and has license and rabies shot, but that shouldn't be too long :3 |

| Thanks for the thread on the fur, maybe I can get my hands on a whitening shampoo in the future. Yes, the name is from Vampire Diaries! The name Klaus grew on me from that show, we've had his named planned out for the last two years haha. The husky mingle group sounds like a blast, I'm sure he'll be old enough to attend before I know it! |

What about American Dad? Assuming I'm understanding what you are referring to. lol. Yes we watch American Dad from time to time as well but it's not where we first heard the name. I'm glad some people recognize it, most people mispronounce it! |

| You do realize why I think it is funny right? Your name is Haley, which is a character also on TVD and the Originals... who also is strongly intertwined with Klaus' storyline ... it was just cute to me. |

| Oh man, I think the Originals story plots are way thicker than TVD, you should totally check it out... Haley becomes a total badass. |
