| Has anybody seen this? After Ami and Archer have been playing awhile, Ami's conjunctiva get really, really red. After Archer goes home, his eyes clear up in a few hours. There is no discharge, just really red.
I'm wondering if it's either a response to the mechanical irritation of Archer's mouth chewing on all parts of Ami's head, an irritation from Archer saliva or even an allergic reaction.
Any thoughts? |

| Do you have a picture? Snickers does something similar, I think. He's done it his whole life (he's 13 now) and we've never been able to find anything wrong with him at the conventional vets I've had look at him. I'd love to get a vet who practiced chinese medicine to poke around on him though! |

| Sounds like a very interesting reaction. I've never noticed anything like this with Mishka when he's around other dogs. It could possibly be irritation from Archer biting on Ami's head. _________________ |

| This kind of reminds me of when Dakota would cough for several hours after coming home from the dog park...and that's the only time he would ever cough. I finally brought it up to my vet who said it was most likely dirt particles he inhaled that got kicked up into the air from the dogs playing at the park. Not saying that's the case here, only sharing since it reminded me of Dakota's coughing issue that only occurred for a few hours after being at the dog park. _________________ |

| I was wondering if it might be something like that Val, or if they run a lot, maybe the cold wind in their eyes or something. Amy, did you notice it in the warmer weather? Also, could be now that they have more room and freedom on your acreage, they are getting into something, with Archer serving the role of lead troublemaker... Btw, we need some updated pix of the Archer man! |

| Val - never thought about dust. No pictures - will see next time I see it. Jen - he did seem to have it more often in warmer weather, particularly in August when he also had discharge in the morning. I thought it might be pollens.
It may be that when Archer is here, instead of slowly meandering through the brush, he is charging through it. Or also, he just does a LOT more running with Archer here, maybe just the force of air on his eyes. By the end of Archer's visit, the last couple of times, Ami's conjunctive were really an angry red. Then, gone several hours after he leaves. peculiar. |
