| Ok, I have bought the split elk antlers time after time, everytime all they do is scrape out the marrow and then don't touch it anymore. So has anyone tried moose antlers seems like the best alternative to keep thier interest. I'm more interested in paddles cut length wise than the tines. I found an awesome site, elkusa that sells all types of stuff but mainly antlers by the pound. Btw I've never had any issues giving them to my dogs, no cracked teeth just shiny white ones. |

| I have only used Elk, but I never use the split ones (I find i am worried about them breaking into sharp pieces). I use the whole pieces, as my boys don't try to break them and instead just gnaw at one end to get the marrow out. I find this makes them last longer and I don't have to worry about sharp pieces.
Moose antlers are softer than elk I believe, so I don't think they would last as long as elk. |

| We use moose all the time, the kids love them! The softest of all the antler varieties so its easy on puppy teeth too |

| @Kiersten I've never had any issues with the spit ones splinter in anyway, do you think whole ones would be okay for puppies? They just have their adult teeth in. @ huskymom09 That's perfect! Do you feel they last a long time since they're the softest antler? Also when choosing them is there anything to look out for? (Color, texture, brands..over cautious XD) |

| I might try some giant moose ones for fun as well....would be nice to have something a bit bigger that can't go skidding under the couch (as much...). As for full ones, it would depend on what kind of chewer the pup is. If they try to break them to get to the marrow, then it could be a problem, but if they like to "savour", like my boys, shouldn't be a problem. |

| Haha I know exactly what you mean, always get them stuck under the couch XD Well I think my gsd is a little bit aggressive when it comes to chewing on stuff. I bought a couple pig ears the other day for example, I gave them each one at the same time, gsd grabes it from me and annihilates it within 20-25 minutes. Husky on the other hand takes it gently frrom my hand then runs around the house with it in her mouth, chews on it a little gets distracted, then goes back to chewing lol. Looks like I'm gonna have to try the moose and whole elk antlers also! |
