First time posting. First time husky and dog owner.
Firstly my husky, Bandit, she is 3 1/2 months old. I've had her since 2 months old.
First question. She loves to chew toys. I mean LOVES to. I've watched her for almostman hour straight other than water breaks chew her toys. Anything from kongs, rope or unstuffables. She just loves it. Is that normal.
Question 2
She doesn't howl. She will bark sometimes during play but no howling or talking. Will she ever? Around what age?
Question 3
She loves water. Sometimes I think she drinks too much or is that not possible?

Hi and welcome, Question #1, answer......she may be teething, try giving her a pig or cow ear (my girl prefers cow) make sure made in America, Canada, or South America (Mexico is fine), or try freezing one of her favorite toys. Now if she's destroying said toys then she's bored, and it's time to start training, doing mental games, short grassy walks 15-20 minutes max, but can do several times a day.

Question #2, answer......Some howl, some bark, some don't do neither and some do both, give her time to find her lungs, and be careful what you wish for, lol, mine likes to talk back at me....

Question #3, answer......many huskies love water, is she playing or does she drink a lot? If she's drinking a lot, but not peeing a lot she may have an infection and you might want to take her to the vet. If she's playing in the water, well mine loves water, she has a kiddie pool so she can play......

2. Ive had several huskies and they all varied when they finally "talked". My current boy "Kohdi" has talked since he was born, lol...the breeder sent me the cutest video of him "talking" just before I went to pick him up, at the end his lil voice disappears even though he's still howling, lol. My current girl "Mishka" didnt talk til just this past weekend (was sooooooo cute) and she just turned 6 months, so it varies a lot.

3. My Mishka drinks all the time!!! she's pretty active though. I was thinking that maybe your puppy is drinking so much cuz of all the chewing she does? it would make sense.

1. I agree with both above on the teething. Another trick i heard about was wet a small towel and freeze it and let them chew on it. Be careful with rope toys. I only let koda play with them when we are playing tug.

2. Koda didnt howl or talk much and i wanted him to also lwhen he was about that age. Itsl sounds werid but try getting yor pup excited then start to howl yourself. This worked for koda. And still works, but only does it when he is excited.

3. Its normal with the water. Koda is always around the water bowl when he is playing, and loves to make a mess of it.

The things that make my dog howl are the siren app on phone for police sirens and the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. Something about that song really gets her going and she is a dog that usually says nothing at all.

Kong makes a great puppy rubber bone. You can stuff either end, and she'll chew for hours. Chewing is good for them, especially if she's teething!

When ours was teething and hurting, we also gave her frozen waffles. She loved them!

For the water, if she's chewing a lot, she probably makes herself thirsty is all. As long as she's going to the bathroom normally, I wouldn't worry.

If she is a big chewer, please be extraordinarily careful with rope. We just lost our dog to a blockage caused by ingesting nylon rope.

Meredith totally agree, highly recommend watching your dog at any age with tug toys, when they start chewing take away, I also recommend using natural, cotton, sisal, hemp rope, they break into smaller pieces in case you can't take away fast enough, natural ropes also degrade where as nylon doesn't. This was on recommendation from our vet in Florida, when we had cat's, rope is far worse for cats, but dogs can consume more in quantity, he explained what I just did. So please people buy natural rope products to be safer. As well as frozen towels, can be the same result, since they love to destroy things, make sure it's cotton, or hemp and not microfiber or nylon/cotton.

So how do I tell if she is chewing cause she is bored or because she is teething? I noticed 2 incisors have fallen out

Sounds like she's teething. If she's bored she will chew to destruction, and destroy anything and everything. Miya's nickname was Hurricane Miya, because she left a path of destruction, lol.

Well she has some of those toys with no stuffing and she likes to chew them apart and get the squeakers out. I do have quite a few kong toys so she can chew without choking or destroying though

If she's into the chewing/destroying I would invest in some chewys as well, some thing she can eat, perhaps a elk antler cut in half with the marrow showing, safe, not too hard to chew on. miya likes empty water bottles, take all paper, cap and ring off and watch to make sure she doesn't eat it or swallow pieces, frozen items are great too, the coolness will soothe her mouth.

Yeah I had to stop giving mine toys that have cloth or ropes at a pretty early age... she picks at stuff with her front teeth.

I think I'm just gonna go all kong toys that way I don't have to watch her every second

Lucy, Miya does too, Cosmothunder just watch the ones with nubs on them, Miya picked them off as well and had to take away. Kids, lol

I have a couple of the knotted ropes; Sasha completely ignore them (well, sorta) and Avalanche plays fetch with them. Sasha doesn't ignore A when he goes running after the rope - she doesn't want the rope, she just wants an excuse to play.
But I've always watch them with them since I've known they were potentially dangerous. A sometimes chews on one but hasn't tried pulling it apart.

These questions have probably already been answered thoroughly but I'll throw in my too.

1. Yep, I think all the evidence points to teething. I'd also suggest wetting a washcloth or clean rag you don't care about and putting it in the freezer. When it's frozen, give it to the dog to chew on. You can also try frozen baby carrots -- we did this when our pup was teething and it did wonders. Of course, she's never been much of a chewer but chewed a lot more than usual when she was teething. Just be sure you keep an eye on them with whatever chew toy you give, as they can break a tooth, swallow something inappropriate or choke on a large piece of something -- puppies especially.

2. My Husky is almost 14 months old and she still isn't much of a talker. She probably never will be, which is fine. I'm proud of how quiet she is. She will woo or bark sometimes when she's excited but other than that she's pretty mellow. People have remarked about how quiet she is. When she does make a lot of noise is when she gets going with the squeaky toys.

3. Dogs will regulate their food and water intake themselves, so don't worry if you think it's too much. Ours is a total water hog, too, but she's perfectly healthy. It just means we have to take her out to pee more often!
