| So i really wanted to get one more summit or two in before the weather changed and Eddy said he was out for the day and Ken had to work so i did a Solo double 13er on Saturday with the pups. here is our track. https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=zg-snrdqJx-c.kixzZeizSxI4 Started at like 7:30am and got back to the car at noon. we did 5.5miles RT in 4h 30m and gained 2,329ft in elevation Cupid-13,117 ft and Grizzly Peak D-13,427ft unlike most hikes that are straight up to the summit and back down this one was more like a roller coaster and the way back was just as hard as the way up since we still had "hills" to climb to get back. I took a ton of pics cause well it was a perfect day out! hope you enjoy a view of where we were headed, middle lump is cupid and the point in the back is grizzly frost to start out with Jack on Cupid Sierra and I on Cupid on our way to Grizzly on the summit of Grizzly Jack with Torreys behind him a 14er looking at Torreys and Grays (2-14ers)from the summit of Grizzly. When i made it up to the summit, S&J were all ready on there way over there! i had to call them back. Headed back the way we came, more uphill to come! in love with this one! looking back to the summit back to being leashed because of the busy road, i could have left them off longer but they were both right there so i took advantage of it! Till our next adventure... _________________ |

| Beautiful pics, as always You really should be in the calendar business!!! Do you get cell phone service up there? I think my favorite is the one with the caption below saying "in love with this one." Jack and Sierra look so satisfied, complete! |

| Amy, it all depends on where we hike, sometimes we have service and sometimes not, mostly not. like on the 2nd peak I did not, but on the way up to the first summit i did have service. I wish i had a better camera the only issue with that is i love this one, its compact enough to not have a carrying issue (weight/size), i get great zoom on it but can not shoot RAW pictures. for a slightly larger camera and much more $$$ i could get something that's really nice, but more bulky. i wish i had the wall space to print all these pictures! _________________ |

| Jenn,
So breath taking!! The wild flowers out here (in the west) are so vibrant. My fave is Jack and Sierra as well. Can't wait to see your next adventure, although calling for possible snow coming weekend.

| I really like the views from this hike. Undulating is the word, rolling or wave like. So much like my Father in law going to school, you went up hill both ways! It was a picturesque hike! I need a guide to know what the numbers refer to. |

| Those are seriously stunning views.
There are a few areas just looking makes me a bit queasy though since I am terrified of heights. Lol. _________________ |

| Hughie, depending on where you are in Wisconsin your state elevation is as low a 581ft and as high as 1,951ft above sea level
Colorado is as low as 3,315ft and as high as 14,440ft above sea level at the top of Mt. Elbert that i hiked last summer with Dietra and Meredith.
So i list the high point of the peaks i climbed and depending on what elevation i was at when i started the hike, my tracking program will tell me the total elevation i gained during my total hike up and back.
when i say i did a 12er,13er or a 14er that is just short for a 12,000+foot peak, 13,000+ft peak and a 14,000ft peak. is that what you were trying to understand? _________________ |
