| It's normal to be able to feel a dog's spine, especially if they're younger than a year. My girl weighed about the same as yours at that age; she's now 14 months old and a healthy 36 pounds. Miya will continue to grow and will likely fill out over the next year and a half or so. |

| Miya had her shots today......At 2 years and almost 4 months old she weighed in at 58 pounds, vet said she was in perfect health, I say she needs to add a few pounds, can visibly see her hip bones......my continuing quest. Her weight is down from a healthier 65 pounds. |

| Lol, Okami had a vet check the other day... 68 pounds. Said she needs to loose 5 pounds. Said her structure is larger than standard, and that 60-63 is her ideal weight. Otherwise in perfect health (other than the ear infection we discovered that day *sigh*) guess we got the sled just in time, she was becoming a "husky" husky with not much winter activity... She stays pretty well at 60 in the summer when I bike her. I also cut her amount of food a little per the vet request/suggestion. We go back on March 8th for her second and last ear infection medicine dose. Edit: this is at 2 years and 2 months. |

| Lol, Lucy, Miya is a larger frame girl too, I just hate seeing her hips. Like Okami, I think the 60-65 pound range is good for her. I would love to compare Okami and Miya's height, and see if they are the same. Although, I think Miya may be longer than Okami. Hmmmmm, now I have to get the measuring tape and measure her height and her length, lol......funny on vets too, this vet likes her on the light side, the other one likes her at the heavier side. On a side note, the vet has a three legged cat, and the receptionist was in fear of Miya eating kitty, lol, kitty and Miya shared kisses instead |

| Vet said Okamkams hips are in perfect health. I asked just to be safe on me running her and wanted to make sure she would be okay with running. I have been giving her fish oil a few times a week for the past couple of months and joint health treats. I will get out the measure tape tomorrow and let you know what okami is sitting at for height and length. |

| How much does Miya eat in a day? Any way to add more kibble or a touch more raw to give her a little more "husky"? |

| I didn't get that far to ask about her hips as in no problems down the road.....I should have. I'm way more concerned at seeing her hips, because obviously she needs to add weight, she has enough fur at her ribs, but in all honesty, you can see her ribs too. Our 5 pound cat eats more than Miya on most days, and this is disturbing to me. The vet just said she is perfectly fine and not to stress over it so much........I hate being told by our friends that she looks anorexic (can dogs be anorexic for no reason????) <sigh>
I was going to make a post, for those with adult dogs.....she even refuses raw, I had to hand feed her tonight, and I broke down and bought a grain free low end dog food, just to see if she would eat, she came out just a few minutes ago and ate a couple of bites. |

| Even though the vet said not to stress out about it, it is always hard to see when an animal refuses to eat as much as they should.... maybe try a food flavor spray? They make them in a bunch of flavors.. helps out the picker eaters. |

| Renee, Ami gets picky now and then. I save bacon and beef drippings and put a scant teaspoon on his food... along with, in the winter, a cup and a half of water (he won't drink much in winter - prefers to n eat snow ). The drippings are just enough to scent the food and he devours it. In summer, I am not concerned... he's more of a floor ornament then |

| Thank you Amy, I did do a post. My go to is a half cup water boiled hamburger mixed into her kibble, and nope. I have some bacon, I'll cook some up tomorrow and see if that stimulates her appetite. I feel like crying, because she finally had a great appetite, and now it's worse than before. At 5.5 months old she was 65 ponds, this weigh in today floored me, my guess she dropped from a solid 65 pounds to the 58 in 2 months, and yet the vet said she was perfect. |

| Totally off topic but I was coming to post in this thread a week or two ago and it was locked. Lol.
Mishka is 2 and now at 62lbs. I prefer him under 60 so we are going to work on that. Since Christmas he's been getting a lot more treats and food than he used to.
I actually want to start feeding him partial raw, just trying to find a good supplier. I need to hit up our local Asian market. _________________ |

| 12 weeks = 12.6 pounds 16 weeks = 17.8 pounds 20 weeks = 19.4 pounds 24 weeks = 23.8 pounds 30 weeks = 27.2 pounds 33 weeks = 29 pounds 46 weeks = 32 pounds 49 weeks = 35.8 pounds 1 year, 5 weeks = 34 pounds 1 year, 2 months = 36.2 pounds 1.5 years = 36 pounds
Had Layla's nails trimmed at the vet today and had her weighed just for fun. Looks like she's been around 36 pounds for a few months now that she's back to her regular appetite. That could be her ideal weight, or she may fill out a little bit more in the next six months. Curious, because both her parents are on the larger end of the breed standard (mom is 45 pounds; dad is 50). I like her petite size, though, and she's definitely been filling out since she turned a year old! |

| I brought Aerys to the vet at 5-6 months (he's 8 1/2 now) and he weighed 15kg
Its so hard to judge his growth for a number of reasons including my Puppy Nyx who is constantly growing and him shedding his winter coat(I got him at 5 month in Jan so I'd never seen him without one)
He seemed much more substantial when he had the winter coat. |
