| According to breed standard, female huskies should weigh from 35-50 pounds, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she's unhealthy. Dogs that aren't bred well can certainly deviate from the standard.
To quote Claudia from another thread, "You should easily be able to feel his ribs, have a taper in his waist when you look at his body from the top, and from the side, he should have an abdomen tuck meaning from his ribs going toward his hips, his abdomen should not be the same level as his ribs."
My girl is 11 months and is roughly 40lbs. |

| We have a weigh in thread where everyone updates their dogs weight. Someone will link it, I'm sure. Edit: JK you found it.
Koda is nearing 5 and 53lbs at 23.5" tall. Ro is 19 months and fluctuates between 28-30lbs at just under 20". |

My girl is 11 months and is roughly 40lbs. Yes it definitely depends on how well bred they are. Lycus is not a well bred husky weighing at 75+ lbs over a month ago and at 27". Way out of standard. |

Wow! Full blooded husky or mixed with malamute? Watch her for joint problems, that is very large for a husky. Breed standard is 35-50 lbs for females fully grown, 45-60 lbs for males. Of course the weight should be proportionate to height and many "breeders" out there try to make "big" huskies. It's not a good idea.... the bone structure of a husky isn't meant to be a large dog. They are medium sized dogs. If a dog is too far out of that standard they should NOT be bred and they should be watched carefully for joint issues. My girls are 43 lbs (11.5 yrs old) and 28 lbs (5.5 months) |
