| Here is Linus. We've had him a month now........ This is what he did to my storage ottoman yesterday...... I don't get what is going on with him. He has been a doll for the past month. We are keeping him separated in the bedroom, away from the other three while we are at work, as he does not realize that he is an older, little dog, and he can't always start what he finishes with them! Don't get me wrong, no big fights between them, but the Huskies are more rambunctious then he is used to, and he can get frustrated with them. Anyway, our neighbor, Sadie called to let me know he'd been chewing. We came home to this! Today was worse, as he attempted to shred the bedroom door. It looked as if someone had been sawing in here! I do not know what is wrong with him. One day, when we first brought him into our home, he got out of the bedroom, and proceeded to shred the bottom of THAT door, so we know it isn't just a matter of wanting to be with the others. Even when he was with them, he was trying to get out! But after that one instance, he has been perfect here in the bedroom. And now, this. It is the crate for him again, starting tomorrow. Now, my fear is he'll chew through the crate. Don't laugh, as I saw him chew his way through a chain-link fence when he lived with my ex & I years ago! Any ideas or suggestions? |

| OH MAN! i think that fits just under eddys sofa. im so sorry. so is your neighbor just checking in for you guys during the day? im not sure what to tell you as we have kind of the same issue S&J will shred any paper near them when we are gone or not around but when we are home they behave, its like they are seeing what they can get away with, we went a few months with nothing and now every day we come home some paper has been shredded even if we think we removed it all before we left. _________________ |

| Sadie comes over about 1 pm to let them all out to play for 1/2 hour to an hour. It breaks up their day. If this is separation anxiety, it is an extreme case! Now we have the worry of how much, if any, of the foam & leather he ate! It is really discouraging! When we let him out, he acts like he knows he's done it, doesn't want to play with the others right away. We haven't yelled at him, have discussed it with him, tho! Like i said earlier, I don't know what has triggered it all of a sudden! |

| Wow! I came home to something similar to this when Mya was younger. Completely tore up our leather couch, blinds, and yeah ate the wall! From that point forward she was in her crate until she was about 2 1/2. Shes' been left out with no serious damage since them. |

| The crate is going to be the safest place for him, but you need to work on crate training him. He shouldn't want to get out. He needs positive reinforcement. I would start feeding all his meals in the crate. When you put him in there, save a SUPER high value treat. For instance, Koda and Hailey ONLY get peanut butter kongs or marrow bones in their crates. If he won't shred it, make sure he has something like a blanket of his in the crate with him, something that smells like him. You can leave the radio or a television on in the background for him. He needs to associate the crate with positive things.
But I think the crate is going to be the safest place for him and for your things... sorry! _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |
