| One of our ferrets is really sick. She has been throwing up off an on for a few weeks. On Tuesday we took her to the vet. At the time they gave her anti nausea medicine and antibiotics. She seamed to be getting better and was more alert and hadn't thrown up in a few days. Today after I cleaned there cage I was putting her back in and she started throwing up and clawing at her face and seamed very out of it. I held her thinking it would pass soon. It continued for about 20 minutes and we headed to the emergency vet. Once we got there the vet took x-rays to see what was going on. Unfortunately they were inconclusive. The vet said her esophagus seamed to be enlarged and that in her current condition she wasn't a surgical candidate.
The vet let us know that she might not make it through the weekend.
If she does then we will take her in to the main vet Monday and see what our options are.
...Sad worried... Rough night... |

| I'm so sorry Elise. i'm over here crying for you and for me because what you went through with Clover sounds so similar to how we lost our Myles kitty last month. |

| Elise, I am terribly sorry, they are such wonderful pets, so funny and cute. You gave her a great life and she is now running free, and is no longer in pain. |

| Sara I am sorry about your kitty. That part of being a responsible owner is so hard.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I was such a mess yesterday that work sent me home and I spend the day cuddling with my dogs and other two ferrets. On the plus side today I just feel exhausted and drained but I think I have ran out of tears for right now so I will be able to make it through the work day. |

| Elise, So sorry you had to go through that, but you did the right thing. I lost my first 2 naturally, both from cancer and the 2nd on passed while i was in CO for my job interview, worst voice mail to get when i landed back home from the vet. the 3rd one we brought out to CO with us, but it was only a few months later we learned the cancer spread everywhere and we had to make the call to put her to sleep. Worst day of my life.
i still think about them every day and still wish them a happy birthday each yr, marked on my calendar 10yrs later.
its the little things you do to keep them a part of your life forever. She will always be with you. HUGS! _________________ |
