| I thought it might be good to ask for all of us that recently aquired a 2nd Husky about bonding with them. I have had Willow for a little over 2 months now and I am finding it harder to bond with her since all she wants to do is bond with Dakota. She will play ball with me once a day but other than that, she is all about Dakota. What can I do with her that will help her bond with Dakota AND me? |

| Taking them on separate walks is a good way for them to bond with you But taking them on walks together is a great way for them to bond with each other too We'll do individual training sessions with each. I will take one and crate them while I work on obedience and tricks with another. Just for 10-20 mins each. If you have a partner or husband/wife, you can each work with one for 10-20 mins and then switch so that you don't have to crate one and make him/her feel left out, but they should be far enough away so as not to distract each other. Individual playtimes, fetch, etc are all good ways as well. Personally I like walks and training, but just giving each dog 10-20 mins a day, even a week will really help strengthen your bond with each of them Great topic! _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I never really thought of the training part as bonding, so that is good to know. I would definatly like to give her some more training. She knows to sit and stay. Stay doesn't always work, but it does when I am getting her food and she won't touch it till I give her the hand signal...but that is all I have trained her on so far. My son wants to teach her to fist pump with her nose. =-) |

| Most people forget that although they make great pets, sibes are a working breed They love to be given a job and working with their owner is a great time to bond. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| yeah we've only had zoey for like 3 days now, she gets pretty excited to see us when we let her out of the crate, she starts jumping on us and licking us to death. not sure if that's her being bonded, or just excited that we let her get out? she is definitely way more interested in Embry then in us though for sure. When we go to the dog park 75% of the time she will follow Embry, who will rarely come if I call him unless he knows I have treats, then come to me calling her. little brat! |

| The best way that I've bonded with Tayla is by playing with her on the car ride home from the airport. My partner was driving and I was in the back playing with Tayla. After a long plane ride it was the best way to bond with the new pup.
Individual walks have helped us bond with Tayla, while group walks have helped Tayla learn some of the walking rules.
We've kept Logan outside a few times and given Tayla some alone playtime inside. Luckily Logan has gotten pretty tired of her a few times so he relishes time away from her.
We've been taking Tayla to puppy preschool, I don't know if you guys have that in the states. That's helped with socialising and given us some pretty good bonding time as well. |
