PostSubject: Strange Wart/Skin Tag   Strange Wart/Skin Tag EmptyWed Apr 30, 2014 11:25 am

So within the last month I've noticed a strange growth on Danzig's chin.  I had the vet check it out when he went for an exam and shots and she thought it was a skin tag.  I've been watching it every day and it seems to be getting larger.  It's not growing width wise but length wise.  It kinda sounds like what I read in the CPV thread but he's 6 years old and there's is only one.  I do keep his bowls extra clean and we only use metal bowls.

Any ideas?  Does this seems like a skin tag?

Well, it doesn't look like Dizzy's puppy warts did, they were round and pink, and he had them all over his lips. If it's not spreading and if Wyatt doesn't have any, I doubt its the warts. They are super contagious!

I checked Wyatt too in case it was bacterial and nope, nothing. I just didn't think skin tags grew.

I'm not sure. I remember growing up our golden had something like that on his chin. It would grow a bit, then inevitably he'd scratch it on something, it would bleed, heal up and eventually fall off. Then come back a while later. I always thought it was just an old man wart type thing with him. It never really seemed to bother him.

Yeah it's definitely not bothering him at all. It's just kind of odd to look at for us. And he is getting older...

That looks like the skin tags that Lulu gets. Cockers are really prone to them, they're harmless.

That's good to hear. I don't need another vet visit.
