Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| http://www.friendlydogcollars.co.uk/ I spotted this and thought I would pass it on for anyone who hasn't seen them before and might be interested. I've thought about getting the "no dogs" for Kenzi to wear when we go to car shows since it's more congested and harder to tell every single person to keep their dog back. Though this still relies upon people being able to read and today we seem to be running low on people that can. If anyone has one already I would be interested to know if it has made a difference in how people approach you or if people ignore it. _________________ |

| These are cool, I might get the nervous for Siku cause I'm sick of people like charging him and him backing up and barking and them look at me like I've got a terrible dog. |

| This would be even better if you could customize a bit. Mishka is nervous around kids but gets waaay too excited when other dogs are around. _________________ |

| I am kinda thinking of the training one or the working one for Diz so we could ignore people and walk by hopefully without them trying to approach. I had thought about getting one of the vests that say 'training, do not pet,' but they look like service dog gear, and I really hate people that try to pass of their pets as service dogs. |

That's a smart idea! My husband and I are going to start training Achilles to be a service dog, so we ordered a vest, but the leash seems like a great idea for people who don't want that association! |

| I should get the friendly one, not that anyone asks me if Yukon is dangerous before squeezing out his face... |

| I've had very good luck with people not just rushing up to pet Kenzi and most kids have actually been afraid of her, but then she always looks like she's on the prowl. The problem has always been people letting their dogs get too close. They will tell their kids to ask before touching the dog but they won't keep their dogs back. At least something like this, even if I don't get time to warn them, they were still technically warned of her issues. _________________ |

| This is a great idea. I feel though you will still get those people who ignore it though |

| Leashes, yes. Collars, no. I bought a collar with Shaqua's name stitched in it.... She is so fluffy you can't even read it! LOL. Great idea though! I like it. |

| I could use 2
1) "if you come close enough, Im going to jump and lick your face off"
and
2) "If I'm off leash and you run, I will play tag, and you WILL be it, especially if your a kid closer to my height"
think i can get those put on there? ...lol... |
