Since the beginning of April this year Anubis gets Eczemas every few weeks. They are not located at the same spot everytime and at the moment he has two, one on each side of his body. Also he has itchyness on his ears and sometimes on the side of his body so he is scrattching alot at the moment. I went to the vet several times and he got medication evertime, after it it got better for a short time to just start again. I asked the vet what could be the cause for this and he just said that it could have many reasons. Lol what am I supposed to do if I donĀ“t know where it comes from. He definately has no fleas. Has anybody an idea what could be the reason for such tings?

| My husky has Zinc Responsive Dermatosis. No vet knew what it was until I found it on the internet and then it was confirmed by skin biopsy. here's a link about it. Google also has some good images. There is no cure but zinc supplements manage the outbreaks. I use Zinpro and Prozyme combination mixed in some wet food.

It really could be a lot of different things but I'd thought I mention this one since very few vets know about it. My husky was about 2 years old before he showed signs and apparently the disease waxes and wanes. It is also more noticeable during the shed cycles.

Ok then it seems Anuibs has the same problem. Do the symptoms disappear as long as you give the dog additional zinc or are they just reduced.

Mostly disappear, mine still has occasional outbreaks of lessions. I would recommend a skin biopsy to confirm as too much zinc for a healthy dog (not suffering from this disease) can be toxic over extended use.
