| Lilu is over 8 months old and we've had her since 2months. She did chew on things like table legs when she was younger, but completely stopped around 5-6 months. We have been letting her free roam the house for about a month now and have had no issue except for her chewing through a napkin or piece of paper towel that was left out. Today my gf took her to the dog park for 2 hours and left around 4pm, I got home around 5:30pm and found that Lilu got a pack of batteries ripped through them and then pierced one of the batteries with her tooth. She also really chewed up the corner of the table. I have no idea why this happened, she has toys everywhere and was so tired when my gf left that she didn't even walk her to the door like she normally does when we leave.
Is it normal for puppies to start chewing things around this age?
How bad is it if she got some battery acid in her mouth?
And should I never let her free roam the house again because of this?
Thanks! |

| It sounds like she's officially entered the teenage phase She will start to test boundaries and be a little crazier than usual. I'm not too sure how bad battery acid is. Maybe someone else will help with information on that. For now, I definitely think you should start crating her again until you think it's safe to let her have free roam. I still don't let my pup have free roam and he's a little over 2 now. |

| Have you ever tried to let him free roam? Just curious if this is just a phase or something huskies are like forever? |

| Her having contact and possibly digesting battery acid is VERY SERIOUS. I did a quick search and this came up. http://www.ehow.com/how_5915661_care-dogs-battery-acid-digestion.html http://www.petfinder.com/dogs/dog-health/pet-eats-batteries/ PLEASE watch her carefully for any signs.
Now my girl has had free roam since she was 8 months but she is hardly EVER alone. Right now both my mom and I are home full time so she hasn't had the chance to do anything really bad but if when ever she is home alone for probably an hour or two to the grocery store she has never really done anything. But I know quite a few huskies on this site that can probably never really have full free roam. |

He has free roam while we're home. He has escaped his crate about twice now while we're gone and he is not a good boy alone at home lol. He pulls down everything off the counters and eats anything. So it's a no for him. |

| Batteries are really bad like Keri posted.
I know my other 2 dogs did this until at least 2-3 years. Needless to say Loki will be crated until at least 2 if not longer. They can be ok for weeks and months, then you come home one day and your basement stairs will be gone. Ok that is my story but I learned from it. |
