Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | Subject: Nova's "escape" attempt Wed Jan 15, 2014 9:33 pm | |
| So I'm dog sitting for my mom and she has a fenced in back yard with a doggie door leading out to it, so when we want we can put the dogs out back and close the sliding door to the laundry room and this tiny back bathroom that has their dog bed in it. I went to take a nap after I got out of work and before I went to my afternoon class, and put the dogs outside, the only time I leave Nova outside unattended is when the other dogs are out there with her because she won't leave them so I don't have to worry about her trying to escape. Well after my nap I got up and went to let them all back in and Nova was no where to be found. So I spent 4 hours of my day panicking and crying while frantically searching my neighborhood for her, it finally got to the point where Travis (the bf) had to go back to work to close up and I went around to some of my close neighbors and talked to them. When I got back home I went around the house one last time just to search like the closets and make sure there was no where that she could possibly be in the house, and surprise surprise I found her, in the back bathroom...I'd glanced in there several times today but never actually walked in there. There is a large plant on the counter and she was standing beside the plant and the far wall right where I couldn't see unless I actually walked in. That means she was stuck standing on this tiny counter for a good 5 hours today, you would think she'd eventually jump and hope for the best. I just had to email my teacher for the class I missed and I feel like an idiot having to explain that I missed her class to search for my dog that technically never left the house. |

| It is, now that I know shes safe and has been all day, I'm super happy and just relieved but half my neighborhood is on the watch for a grey and white husky just over knee height so I'm probably gonna have to explain it alot over the next month when I take all the dogs for a walk lol oh well |

| Probably! lol! But just think of all the people that you and Nova will be making smile! It's a good way to get to know your neighbors if you don't already too! |
