Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| So I know how to upload photos directly from my computer without using a hosting site, but is this possible with videos too or is a Youtube (e.g.) account necessary? |

| Just a silly yet simple question:
You mention to make the width of the photo 640 pixels. What about the height? How many pixels is it supposed to be???
I want to upload Frigga's scrapbook.
Thank you!!!!

Erica, Frigga's Grandmother!!!! I do "cook-book" computer stuff - follow the directions exactly...so when you click on "host an image" and sign in/create account on servimage.com - they give you 4 choices, one of which is 640 (for websites) - no other information needed. For this techie innocent, works fine...if you want to do it some other way or with different soft ware that you set your own parameters - I am no help. |

| Amymeme,
Thank you!!! I am FAR from being a techie. More like a drooling idiot, who gets it correctly from time to time from screwing around. Now ask me to do it again!!! LOL!!!!
Thank you!!!!

| Renee, I find using photobucket and their links to be the fastest, but copying the 2nd option of links on the site up load and then paste the link and the pic should show up _________________ |

| I'm a pro now at uploading pics from my computer doing all this, hahaha, but can ANYONE explain to me step by step how to do it using an iPad? I get as far as copying but I can't get it to paste. |

| Well Jim I don't know if I'll be of any help but I will tell you how I do it. I always have he forum on regular desktop mode on both my ipad and iphone so everything is the same all the time. So when it comes to uploading pics to a thread it's just like on the computer...I click the first little icon that's two icons away from the YouTube icon on the right. Then the servimg uploading thing pops out and I choose file then I click host it to get the link to post. One thing I will say is that for some reason sometimes when I upload from my iphone/pad it will post the pics rotated the wrong way which drives me nuts so that's why I prefer uploading from the computer. |

| Thanks Dave! That's where I get stuck though, once I get the link, I highlight it but I can't get it into my , ugh, brain fart...the box... where I put text and pics, whatever it's called Edit...nope, not cuz I remember the name of the box, this brain fart is a doozie,,,but because I'm not so concerned with side ways pics, I'd like to know more for inserting a pic in a PM (the person can tilt their head, haha) or the random times a pic might be on my iPad and I don't have to send it to my laptop just to upload it. Ok, edit no.2, cuz I've been trying everything. It may just be my being unfamiliar with iPad's way of copy and pasting but it seems more than that. Ok, so, I can select my pic, I click "host it", the box with the 3 url link things comes up, just like with my laptop, but here is where I get stuck...I click the second url on the list but instead of it highlighting like on my laptop, that second url comes up in its own box with an "ok" button...I've clicked ok to see if it works and nothing, I've tried the iPad tap and hold to drag and nothing, so I'll click preview to see if anything shows up and Nope, nothing. So, if anyone knows what I have to do once that url shows up in its own box, I'd sure appreciate the information |

| Hi Chris and welcome from a fellow Texan - there's an amazing number of us here - I'm from over by the Big Bend area so a "hop, skip and a long jump" from you. This is a fantastic picture and the captioning was enough to make me start laughing. We have a section dedicate to " scrapbooks" for our various dogs and that picture would be a great place to start yours. _________________ “Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” Corey Ford . |
