Hello all, Ok so my female husky is almost a year old! This coming Feb, she will be one. She has been fully house broken with no accidents since five months. This weekend we watched a male husky for a friend, he was one-two years old ...My friend brought his large crate, his food .. toys ..etc. She failed to tell me he was neither crate trained or housebroken. So first my Fiance and I introduced the two out on a walk ... brought them in the yard waited for them to both relieve themselves and brought them inside. First thing the male does is mark our dogs bed (it was one of them beds not meant for bed wetting one of them real expensive beds not meant for bed wetting might I add lol) Ok, big sigh,I caught him thankfully, and stopped him mid pee took him back outside and did not let him back in until he peed again ... In this time my fiance put natures miracle on our dogs bed, and built his large crate. We had brought him back in let him walk around a little bit but once he got back to sniffing around we placed him inside his crate. He starts peeing in place while standing there! LOL so now my Fiance takes him out .... I clean the pee with more natures miracle and clean pee foot prints leading to the door .... put the crate divider in and we start over. The dog was fussy through the night and it was heaven once my friend came to pick him up. That night Sif pooped on the floor. It was our first night using the house heat so I gave her the benefit of the doubt that the new sound troubled her. A few days pass and just last night (without the heat on) She strikes again, and once again we did not catch her so we could not reprimand her :c We like letting her have freedom when we run to the supermarket for an hour. I really am unsure of what to do! Can she be broken of this behavior? I have never once had a dog that needed to be house broken twice. She has not peed the floor yet either it has only been poop. Her diet is unchanged, her routine is unchanged. Should I start taking away her freedom and crate her more? Any advice would be fantastic! Thanks in advance.

I think monkey see monkey do applies to this situation, your dog has picked up a unwanted behavior from the dog you were watching, best way to fix this fast is to re housebreak her. The longer u take to do it the longer it'll take to housebreak her again

I have been watching her like a hawk, Today i bought an adult dog crate, bought some new extra strength natures miracle and sliced up some cheddar cheese for extra special treats when she does her business out in the yard. I seriously gotta say, to pick up a behavior that fast is pretty phenomenal lol! Also for such a high energy dog in her adolescence if this is the worst behavior that she is displaying ILL TAKE IT lol ...I will be sure to update this thread after this week to see if the problem is over with, I would really love to give her freedom back :c
