2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Husky in Elk City OK needs home Empty
PostSubject: Husky in Elk City OK needs home   Husky in Elk City OK needs home EmptyTue Dec 10, 2013 3:07 pm

I made a post earlier but she contacted me right after I posted saying she found a home so I deleted it right after posting. She thinks they are back peddling now so she asked me to ask around.
Long story short..my cousin needs a home for a Husky, she lives in Elk City OK. I have not really had any contact with her other then facebook in 20 years so I can not attest to how she raises her animals. The back story is though, they just had a new baby and the husky who is...around 2 (guessing) bit their 3 year old son ( I do not know if it was a nip bite or a full on bite. I am guessing it is from all the changes going on...but like I said ..I really know nothing about the situation other then want I just posted but I can get more detail if anyone is interested.
Anyone know of any rescues in Elk City or near it? Or is anyone interested themselves. She doesn't want to take the dog to the pound because they will just put it to sleep if they disclose it bit her son but she doesn't want to not disclose it.

Heartland Huskies as well, Brian is a sometimes member of this forum and lives in Moore. I'll direct him to check this thread, and if you're on Facebook you should look them up.

On the one hand, you become a fierce defender of the ways in which your little one is perfectly ordinary — all the things he or she can do that are just like what everybody else does. And yet, you never lose sight of how absolutely extraordinary that very ordinariness is, how difficult, remarkable and rewarding that fight to be 'just like everybody else' has been."  -Gwen Cooper, "Homer's Odyssey"

Thank you,
I forwarded the info to her. She told me a little more ...she said the dog is really good but for some reason just doesn't like her son, does great with older kids. I went through this with Nanook and Max, Max is much older then her son though so I am sure it would be much harder to get a 3 year old to be recognized as higher up in the pack then an 8 year old.
She said she will send me pictures to post when she gets home. Hopefully we can help her out.

She found a home. My Cousin didn't say if it was with one of the rescues or not but thank you for the help.
