| Hello all
This is my first Husky and I am an owner of an Australian Blue Heeler (Swift) as well. The Heeler was a rescue as well. So far not so bad. With about 4 walks and a trip to the dog park we are doing ok.
The husky (Grey) is about 8 months to a year old and still seems to have some puppy energy. The Heeler and Grey are doing so so... Hopefully this will get better. Currently I am working with Grey on not pulling on leash while walking and getting use to a crate. He cries and barks right now when in it.
Waiting for the rescue shelter to get him fixed, so Grey keeps trying to play or mate with the Swift. Hopefully with time and getting him fixed this will help.
Welcome any advice and thanks for having a place for new owners, greatly appreciated. |

| Welcome to the forum! We love pics around her so post away! I got to see a Blue Heeler puppy at the vet a couple of months ago and it was the cutes little thing. He was already super obedient as well. I was pretty amazed how well he paid attention to his owner being that young. |

| Welcome! Can't wait to see pictures of your pack! I had a heeler growing up and they're great dogs. they're adorable puppies! They're pretty common in Texas. |

| Actually I did Swimmer is a friend of mine from when I lived in OKC. Got a funny call a couple days ago going "hey, you have a Husky, can you tell me what I'm getting myself into?" Glad you joined up! Give Swift and Grey a little time. Swift is probably like "who is this wild thing?" and Grey is still trying to catch up with everything that has gone on since you found him at the Y. You might want to look into formal training classes at like the Petsmart or something, it has really helped with Ghost. Give the Swiffer a hug for me and good luck with Grey. I want to see more pictures as well! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I am sorry to say that Grey has gone back to the Shelter. After a few things, Grey did not fit best into our home due to conflicts with our current dog. I would like to say thank you so much for a warm welcome. A big thank you for Meredith for the help with the multiple phone calls this last weekend. I am currently trying to return the crate with Petco. If I am unable to return it, I will be back to see if anyone would like it (free!!!!!). Thank you all again for the great words and support. |

| sorry it did not work but why give up all together? try a different one that might be a better fix, all huskies are not the same. glad Meredith could help you _________________ |

| Sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you guys. As Jenn said, not all Huskies are alike, and rescues can be tough to handle sometimes. I'm glad I could help some, wish I could have done better though. I'm sure Grey will find the right family, and I'm glad you at least tried. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
